Very happy with my TI account atm.
Had to dl some torrents this morning for a friend and decided to use my backup capped account and not my TI uncapped account.

I used between 50 - 65% of my line speed for the downloads and I'm experiencing slow browsing of sites, including MyBB.
Internet radio streaming is a pain.
Audio keeps on disappearing and comes back anything between 30 seconds to 10 minutes later.

Using my S4 via Wi-Fi(TI) does not yield the same result. Browsing is fast.
The same for the Internet streaming. Other pc's on the LAN have no issues with streaming.

Well done TI.

Ag asb, mooi asb Ranger. My 4 meg lyn het geskitter soos koei *** ( kompliment in my werld). Maar die afgelope 2 week is so dof so n hond se tjhokie. Ek probeer my beste om my downloads in die rooi te ky maar, manage selgs 150Gig die maand. My P2P downloads is so stadig soos om Piet se 1976 toyota diesel. Probeer n plan maak boet. As jy bloudraad kort, praat met my, ek het baie.

There is a cable failure (started last week, I think Thursday). I think it was EASSy, but I am not sure (it is on the Durban to Amsterdam route, which I think is on EASSy).

The SAIX/IPNet guys have been getting more temporary capacity on other routes, and doing some routing changes. But, until:
-EASSy is fixed (I believe it should be fixed by today, but I am not 100% sure if is up yet)
-Telkom Internet and Telkom Wholesale finalise negotiations for increasing our international bandwidth requirement so that we can place an order on Telkom Wholesale, so they can conclude new transit agreements that cover sufficient capacity to be able to sustain a major cable failure

there will be some impact to international traffic.

Any news on when this will be sorted? I have times where my international pings are perfect and others where things get completely out of hand :/ DNS's seem to have helped in the beginning, but not anymore :(

Please please forgive me for asking this, but I would like to know how the 25% discount works. I am GOING to cancel my MWEB account and looking at switching to telkom. According to the Telkom website, it shows 2mb line with line rental and data for R616

http://www.telkom.co.za/broadband/offerings/telkom-internet-plans/uncapped/do-uncapped-up-to-2mbps/

I am currently on a 1mb line and thinking of taking the 2mb and being automatically upgraded to 4mb later. Can someone perhaps with a 2mb line confirm how much they are paying for everything all in all, including discount.

And is there a specific procedure I have to follow to claim this discount ?

There's a thread somewhere on here on how exactly to get the discounts. But I'll save you the trouble of searching since it's your god given right to have internet at a low price.

Call 10210
Choose the option to the option center
Tell them you want the 25% discount
And agree to keep your line with Telkom for 12 months

Obviously move your line back from mweb to Telkom first
