Looks fine with no local congestion.

Your torrent speeds agree with what I'm getting (OK my soaps are hitting the limiter at 185kB/s).

Please clarify when you feel TI are limiting torrent speeds:

1) 18:00 to 23:59
2) 06:00 to 23:59
 
People bitching about torrents when there are more than capable methods of getting the same info, without hammering the network with mass amounts of seeding.

Yeah, well, I think between us we might have sussed your problem :D

... but reactor_sa was getting acceptable speeds after 08:00 this morning and I think we all know by now that TI de-prioritises torrents during option 1 hours.

Ranger has said several times in this thread that 6pm thru midnight is the peak period for residential ADSL so rather schedule downloads outside of this period.
 
I assume weekends are different to weekdays, unfortunately I had to change to netlimiter 4 which doesn't seem to have a stats or history view so I can't say when exactly daytime speeds drop.
Anyway, it seems fine today. Does anyone know if weekend usage counts towards your usage bar?
 
Is this the usage tracker at adsl.telkomsa.net? My usage bar is blank

As far as we TI users know all uncapped usage is counted equally with the possible exception of "night surfer" data, 00:01 - 06:00, which ranger hinted carried less weight in determining abuse limits (check rangers posts in this thread last month sometime).
It might be good practice to start & end a session in this period to ensure that it's allocated correctly if you have a system that supports a connect and disconnect scheduler (I use IPCop firewalls so no Windows questions please :)).

Yes, but the bar is just an indication use saix for actual stats:

Would just like to thank Telkom Internet so much. After my complaint to TelkomZA, my torrent download speeds have increased by about 15 times. 15 kilobytes per second. Thanks again!
 
Streaming rugby and browsing the net... Still good times... Thank you Telkom.
 
I will be cancelling Telkom Internet at the end of October, I'd rather use Mweb to be honest. If you want to use torrents out side of 00:01 and 06:00 then Telkom is definitely not what you are looking for - 12kbps at 8pm on a saturday.... ffs. Piss poor. I've done 25GB this month (mixed steam, torrents, http, streaming) and this is what I get.

That's not my experience. The only degradation I see is between around 6pm and 10pm on week nights.

I just switched to afrihost account, hahaha, torrent has 1 seed, no peers - 172kbps!! On telkom I was getting 15kbps on a torrent with 23 of 22000+ seeds!!!
 
Maybe my account wasnt provisioned properly, I dont know, but the last call I made to telkom support was to a very rude person who was just about shouting at me like I'm the problem. Definitely I'm out at the end of October unless there is some miracle at telkom before then.

+1. Think I will also have to take my business elsewhere. Does one call to cancel now and tell them to disconnect you at the end of October, or call at the end of October to cancel with immediate effect?
