That's a debate I'm not entering into, I'm happy with my TI accounts.

Anyone know if TI will let you run 2Mb uncapped on a 1Mbps line, it could be a cost effective solution.

cool. Just remember, if its happening to me now, it wont be long before you and others also fall under the bus. ;)

Just seen your post in the Razoweb thread:

... where you say you were throttled under TI's normal AUP for 1Mb uncapped in Aug & Sept. I wonder if your current situation isn't due to a TI policy which has yet to be disclosed (pity rangers overseas ATM).

Anyone else in the same position?

When I first got uncapped I seemed to experience the same thing, every month after every month where I hit red seemed to bring bad net but I haven't downloaded that much since (always below 200GB these days and I think last month I was even below 100GB) and so never experience it anymore. Trick is to stay about 50GB away from whatever landed you in the red (in my case 250GB). In fact I even ended up inadvertently capped on an uncapped product in February because I was meant to acknowledge that I'd been a bad boy and sign in to the TI Tracker before my service would be resumed again...but TI had the Tracker offline as it was busy fixing things so I had to get someone at 10217 (business line) to reset me manually...which they also struggled with but eventually managed.

My usage bar is green. In fact, the green bar is just under the "U" of "Normal User"

on 1MBPS? I think that might be seen as abuse, not sure though.

Yes. 1MB account. If it is seen as abuse, then I would hope they would tell me so I can leave. Suppose it does make more economic sense to simply throttle me to 1 kilobyte per second speeds and still collect my full premium.

I was never fully throttled though when I got seen as an abuser, just some stuff (like torrents) were dead, the rest was still lightning fast (well, I haven't been on 2MBPS for that long...so that fast, not actual lightning fast)...and torrents aren't predictable enough to rate a service by since they depend on so many outside influences.

Hi guys
needs some advise here , new user on telkom 1mb uncapped and was wondering on this tracker site usage graph
when is the best time to download to avoid been in the red zone 12am - 6am or which is best ? mainly use news servers to download stuff , does the tracker reset after every month ?

Yeah twelve to six is best and the tracker resets every month.

Red Zone has to do with both total usage and continuous line-maxing usage so night surfer won't completely save you from it.
And yes the tracker resets every month, although in my experience the month following one in which you turned rest still seemed affects by TI's opinion of you the previous month, doesn't apply if you manage to remain green though (or orange as far as I remember) though.

Are torrents disabled during the day?

So far my experience is such:
Torrents only work from 12pm to 6am.
Browsing, streaming, http at line speed from 12pm to 6pm.
Nothing works from 6pm to 12pm.

Not for me.
Every now and then I download Linux or other openware software in the form of torrents and I usually do that during the day and I normally don't have issues.
I tested my torrents that are scheduled to download from 00:00 - 06:00 and it took about 45 seconds to reach 400kB/s. I did the test at 17:30 after reading your post.
