Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

As happy as I am with Plugg right now, I am always on the lookout for a better product.

Now while I have my reservations with Telkom, I do think that having them as an ISP might have its advantages. Like controlling the entire infrastructure for example.

In terms of uncapped 4mb lines.

Can someone in Cape Town please ping this IP address?

Just for interests sake a Durban 2MBPS tracert looks pretty much identical to that one from RoMark.

Is it just me or is telkom just screwed this evening?
Every 2nd speedtest I try just gets stuck at "connecting", here's the result of one that actually completed on a 4mbps line.

Telkom usage tracker shows no bar at all (ie. no usage).

Web pages are not loading properly if at all, very terrible experience.
And I reset all the routers and modems about 30 minutes ago.

So........
Was asked by TelkomZA to run a tracert and speed test on my account as well as a test account he gave me.
Results are similar from my limited knowledge of interpreting the results.

So just for interest I ran Utorrent using his test account and got 90 kilobyte per second speeds. Then immediately changed back to my account and ran Utorrent. DEAD.

Any opinions? Seems like I am simply being throttled/totally BLOCKED with regard to torrents. Not impressed at all. Will wait and see what TelkomZA's response is to my feedback which I PM'ed to him just now.

changed to afrihost 1gb capped account, wont even finish preparing a speed test. My line must have an issue. Was fine before I moved from mweb 2mbps to telkom 4mbps yesterday....

Well I'm still not able to complete a speedtest, but I just downloaded the dobroadband_3_1_33_1.exe tool from telkomsa.net at 300kbps+. Definitely something wrong with telkom.

Yo MickeyD can you perhaps give me the correct DNS settings, i think im still using the Telkom DNS (196.43.50.190 and 196.43.42.19) what are the other DNS Settings to try, im not the happiest about my speeds for the past 2 days, been getting about 150Kbps on my Usenet downloads constantly, as opposed to the usual 200Kbps, and i schedule my SABnzb to run from 23h00 till 06h00, so i dunno why its not that awesome anymore..
