Surely some of you must realize your situations are unique?
I'm doing 300+ gb on a 2mb line without even hitting red or seeing any form of speed decrease.

Nothing works from 6-12? that is most certainly not the case here.
We stream tv at that time every evening.

The only site that's sucky for me on TI is supersport.com. Used to stream beautifully on my mweb account. On TI now it sometimes doesn't even load. Small price to pay I suppose, considering...

I watch my sport through online streaming sources.
The one I use often uses DSTV streaming site and even he has issues.
On a massive international line.
I generally go for Sky Sports as a result.

Same here. Sky Sports F1 HD FTW! Sometimes the F1 race stream starts to stutter just as the lights go green. I figure it must be server load. The pre- and post- race stuff is all fine. On a 4 meg line I can even run 3 simultaneous streams in 3 different rooms, so it can't be a line issue. I just like having the Supersport feed up at the same time so if by the grace of God perhaps Vettel breaks down in a cloud of smoke I don't miss the fun :)

Gotta love F1 where everyone starts hating on the Germans if they're any good.

Gotta love F1 where everyone starts hating on the Germans if they're any good.

Fact that he's German is irrelevant, just as it was with Schumacher. It's just boring watching a one horse race.

(I don't want to be the one to derail this thread, so please someone post a tracert or something... :)

Are torrents disabled during the day?

So far my experience is such:
Torrents only work from 12pm to 6am.
Browsing, streaming, http at line speed from 12pm to 6pm.
Nothing works from 6pm to 12pm.

As your experience seems to match ambroseg1's see his comments in the RazoWeb thread:

... I am what most consider to be an abuser. I have a massive list of stuff to download and basically leave my pc on 24/7 to download.

If this describes your habits it could well be that TI have moved your account to a separate category reserved for serial offenders. Ambroseg1 and I are just surmising ATM as ranger is not available to confirm or deny.

I moved over from Mweb on Tuesday, therefor it is impossible that I am an type of offender with Telkom.
Also the usage tracker doesn't even show any sign of a bar yet.

I think it probably is congestion at the exchange as tracert is all over the place:

Actually your tracerts look OK, doubt your problems are due to congestion :)

I moved over from Mweb on Tuesday, therefor it is impossible that I am an type of offender with Telkom.

I'm guessing that your account wasn't created correctly, this is a problem that ranger is good at resolving when available. Not sure if it lies within TelkomZA's competency but you could PM him with this post.

Anyone else able to point reactor_sa in the right direction?

Also twitter the Telkom Twitter guys cuz they too seem to be competent at fixing such things.

Please, pretty please, test the following torrent now and report back:

http://fedoraproject.org/en/download-splash?file=http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/torrents/Fedora-Live-Desktop-i686-19.torrent

... I'm off into the shower for next while.

After 5.8% avg dl is 70.6kbps...

Tried a very well seeded torrent from kat and it going at 260kbps and climbing before I dropped it.

The free download hours are only 00:00 to 06:00? or weekends to?
I've done about 4GB of steam downloads during peak time last night and I'm already just before the 'n' in 'normal' on the ti tracker.

I've kept all my torrent downloads from 00:00 until they're shaped to death at whatever time during the day. So far on torrents starting at 00:00 I can do about 8GB a day on well seeded stuff (new shows) before they're shaped to death while I'm at work. Based on the trend I can do about 250GB of torrents a month on 4mbps ti uncapped.
Steam downloads don't seem to be shaped much at all.

OK kill all download activity and run a tracert to bbc.co.uk, lets see what that looks like.

11:55pm - torrents at 5kbps
12:05am - torrents at 300kbps+

Between 6pm and 12 the Internet just goes to ****

welcome it seems to the Telkom we all know and hate. was just a matter of time before its true colours showed LOL
