Try doing a speedtest as soon as you log back into your telkom account from your backup.
 
Things have improved my side, streaming 720p here no problems.

If you have a contract with a "freebie" of some sort (laptop etc) a debit order is mandatory until the end of the contract, you can opt for early settlement.

Not entirely so hey, I have all the above, but I transfer my payments monthly. No debit order. Just tell them you dont get ur salary on the same day every month.
 
TI 4 meg uncapped dog slow here in the Southern Cape. I shouldn't have bragged the other day about having no issues, 'cos today I even checked down in the systray to make sure I wasn't on dial-up. Most sites, local and international, dog slow. Changed to all sorts of different DNS', then tried an old axxess voucher - worked perfect.

My Telkom IP account is totally dead. Nothing resolves even. Using backup account.
 
Seems although most of Telkom Internet's staff are tucking into sunday lunch, the techs must be busy doing something. Let's hope they're fixing things...
 
Things were great late last night and then Dial-Up again today. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Now just let this issue persist for another 30 days and you will be at our level of frustration :p.

Don't fret, it looks like TI are playing with the QoS again. As you say browsing is terrible, local & int, but torrents & streaming (youtube & iPlayer) are perfect.

Pretty sure they'll sort it by start of business tomorrow and upset the gamers & Netflix users again :p
