I wish mine was just normal again.

I've been waiting 5 days already for someone to come and look at my line.

Looking at yesterdays upload traffic (blue) it seems there was a glitch in the afternoon which cleared before 6pm. Everything seems fine today.

Still the same, will reboot and get another IP and hope for the best. No need to phone now i guess. Appreciate the update guys.

@Nismo, if you haven't already, give the Twitter or facebook guys a visit and they should resolve your issue quickly. Otherwise if you already have a reference then send it to ranger and as soon as he can, he will escalate for yeh :).

NEW IP but speeds remain the same. Got to phone and check.

Download Speed: 274 kbps (34.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 385 kbps (48.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 33 ms

Is Telkom Softcapping/Throttling again?
Around 20 minutes ago my downloads have dropped from +-200KB/s to 40 KB/s on my 2MB Uncapped account.

My speedtest for International is showing
Download - 0.33Mbps
Upload - 0.36Mbps

Local is
Download - 0.41Mbps
Upload - 0.38Mbps

Around 20 minutes ago my downloads have dropped from +-200KB/s to 40 KB/s on my 2MB Uncapped account.

My speedtest for International is showing
Download - 0.33Mbps
Upload - 0.36Mbps

Local is
Download - 0.41Mbps
Upload - 0.38Mbps
Doubt it is softcapping. Same happened yesterday as well. Not sure if it is throttling, because my speeds are a bit erratic. All was fine during the night and most of the morning as well.
 
Yes, soft capped from yesterday.

On an uncapped account? Did you confirm it with TI?
Im not soft capped afik, because I can stream,etc, but speeds did drop drastically on TI for me in the afternoon. I do get full speed with other ISP atm.

Maybe im being shaped.

Still does not work for me.

From TiTracker. and they slow a 4 Mbps account to 0.5 mbps?

10210 denies I'm being softcapped- says Titracker message is false ???? created fault. line speed slowed to 0.5 mbps and poor connectivity. Latency dependent apps (eg games ) not working. takes 30 seconds to load e-mail on gmail.com.

They dunno whats going on.

seriously... Im on a 10MB uncapped and guess what Im getting worse speeds I used to get 5 years ago when I was on a 384kbps package. This is my first month with TI and im not impressed at all. Im not sure what everyone was raving about

If this the kind of speeds im going to be getting then I guess im going to have to jump ship

The raving speeds came before the network changes from Jan/Feb/March and it was pure bliss. I still have hope it will be even better but getting there just requires patience many do not have :p. For now, i have an idea what i should download until to last the month so will see where it goes from here.

I get what you saying about it getting better but why should I stay with TI in the interim when I can get the same or similar package for about the same price and get better speeds and service from my ISP.

For now, i have an idea what i should download until to last the month so will see where it goes from here.

...but what do you think of TI service thus far and do you think you will reach more or less what you hoping to get. Where would you go if you dont get your expected outcome? I here Afrihost is not bad... I was with Mweb for years and there service was great until a few months ago I started getting bad service from them and then at the same time there have out of date pricing vs the other ISP's for the same offer.

No, you should be getting at least 1Mbps.

They have tools available, which should be displaying a suitable message.

Hmm, should be better than that. It is supposed to be useable.
