Ah roguemat, you may have to wait longer as i phoned to bump up my account and the fellow on the line said the system is currently offline. Hope they sort it out fast.

Look, I have had to deal with Telkom support today for two reasons (which I am not going into). The first guy was great. He provided me with the necessary steps to take to resolve the problem. The second lady was useless. Lazy as anything!

End of the day, if you are not happy with who you get the first time round phone again. There are some stars working for them

Lol, internet stopped working earlier, and I got excited. After restarting router, it's still slow though :(

YouTube is crud today. Please Telkom don't disappoint.
Maybe it is an area thing Pooky?
I tested quickly and it is running well for me. Slight stutter on 1080p and the rest is good.
I'm on a 4Mbps line, close to PE.

Everyone OK tonight? Had some issues with Youtube buffering for a few minutes then cutting off completely and the samething when downloading with 10 threads (success rate is usually 99%).

Anyone know if accounts are able to do account upgrades on the weekend? Itching for 10MB :p.

Edit: Didn't know what crud mean't :D and yeah, samething. Pooky is in an area about one hour away so could be an area thing . Hmmm

Anybody in the newlands area have a word or so to say about their experience?

Hows the overall downloads experience etc on the 4mbos lines?

Speed test on my Telkom 1Mbps
Test conducted on 5/4/2013 9:41:44 PM

Download Speed: 331 kbps (41.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 395 kbps (49.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 241 ms

We are running into some resource constraints on some components on our network. This is having an impact on traffic prioritisation from the afternoon until late evening.

Upgraded units were delivered late last week, and we are hoping to get them in in our Gauteng next weekend, and in Cape Town the week after.

On a Friday afternoon? Likely story ... I didn't see any notifications for any system being offline.

I am so gatvol! Can not watch Youtube vids for how long now I do not know.

International speedtest tonight on 4MB line.

Test conducted on 05 May 2013 07:42:47 PM

Download Speed: 364 kbps (45.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 257 kbps (32.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 239 ms

I can hardly open any websites, but youtube hasn't been working all day. I can only watch the first 3-5 seconds.

Cape Town.

Struggling on Telkom Internet capped - very slow speeds, very high latency. Local and international.

There is no way you can achieve a download speed of 1.6Mbps as your line only syncs at 1528 Kbps which equates to 1.49Mbps and if you take some network overhead into account you probably looking at something in the region of 1.3Mbps, having said that and based on your current download speed your line seems fine.

If you suppose to be on a 2Mbps account your line should sync at 2048Kbps unless you are too far from your local exchange or you line's copper quality prevents you from syncing any higher. In this case you should log a fault with Telkom.

Guess I need to log a fault then cuz I could have sworn it was synching at 2048Kbps before. I was definitely getting 1.6MBPS on speed test before and when doing HTTP downloads about 210kb/s instead of 160.

I think it might have been before I switched to uncapped though.

Hmm, i forget the name of the fellow on the line but he said the system for upgrading accounts was down (are they seperate?). This will teach me to believe one fellow if i get this kind of response :p. Thanks ranger :)

Holy monkey balls! It took like 3 days, but just got an sms saying my 10Mb is active :D
Getting consistent 7Mb/s speedtests now (which I will complain about after this rush of glee :P) :D

Sweet, enjoy :D. Now the wait for 20/40MB awaits you roguemat (which no dev should not have experienced) :p.
