Are the telkom servers any good or will I have to sign up to other servers, finding nzb's has become a hassle for me ever since nzbmatrix went dead as you could easily sort out the crap from the good stuff. I've still got some astraweb bandwidth left.

Have you tried NZB.su, I'm using this since the demise of NZBMATRIX unfortunately its invitation only, if you interested ill send you one. Also switched from Astraweb to Supernews as the DMCA take downs was horrible on Astraweb.

Grabbing some Linux distros off news.telkomsa.net from Cape Town. Dead as a doornail. Going at like 11kb/s. I thought Telkom doesn't shape? :(

I downloaded Fedora 19 Beta, 32 & 64bit versions, just over 9GB in total via torrents with no problems.

No linux distros for me :( Still dling @ 20kb/s. Tried reseting router several times. Tried news.saix.net/news.telkomsa.net.

Both give me same result :(

Same here tried resetting router resetting port downloads @9-30kb/s been going on since 11:00 this morning.

It just went dead now completely. Can't connect to server :( Connected now with my openweb account to IS news server and that works 100%. so its not exchange.

I'm considering increasing my line speed to 4MB, from 2MB.

Can anyone on 4MB confirm the amount of GB you pull can before being throttled?

Some people are saying 320-350GB.

I pulled 240GB so far this month and haven't been throttled yet, and lord knows I was trying to get throttled but ran out of stuff to download

I was on 450GB (up & down) and was throttled to 1mb/s on 16/05/2013. Total for May was combined at 630GB. Back to full speed 4mb/s today.

Well for me, those would be acceptable figures tbh.
Throttled to 1meg for half the month must have been hell though.

Did the various speedtests reflect the 1Mbps down?

I agree, it would be interesting to know what the GB limit/throttled speed on TI's 10Mbps offering is as it's only R300 more.

All speed tests came in at 1mb/s so definitely throttling and not shaping.

Only on ADSL for 2 months now coming from iBurst so can live with 1mb/s.

Just fantastic, been like this for months. What the hell is going on?

Signed up for their 2MB Uncapped account today. Did 12GB already, and no problems whatsoever. Downgraded my MWEB Uncapped to a 1GB capped account. Keen to see if the Telkom service remains as good for the rest of June. If it does, I'll be dropping MWEB completely.

You'll get around 240Gb before you encounter issues...

Thanks for the info it'll assist other 4Mbps users challenge 10210 when they try to blame sub 0.5Mbps speeds on "soft capping".

I see you still managed to pull down another 180GB even when throttled to 1Mbps - pretty good compared to some 1Mbps uncapped offerings :D

... mind you browsing at 1Mbps must have been a drag as RoMark says, hope you had some capped GBs to fall back on.

Is there anything wrong today? I cannot even browse, things are slower than dial-up (I'm serious). I'm not downloading anything but I can barely browse this site or any others locally or internationally.
