Post which router/modem you got then we can help but generally it should be under the status section.

My Netgear DGN2200M Telkom branded router has it under the Router Status > down below > Show Statistics.

It does have to be supported and sometimes it is hidden :p.

Ranger, any feedback on the Cape Town IPC upgrade yet? Service was unusable even after 22:00 last night. I had to resort to a Afrihost free account :(

My Telkom capped account was a bit laggy last night in games and never usually have problems so changed to Afrihost and also was disconnecting from the game server so not sure if it was the game server at fault since my line seems fine when tracerting and pinging.

Well now it's the Netgear DGN1000/N150 before it was the Telkom Billion 800VGT.
I mostly know my way around them but I don't recall ever seeing such a reading.

It's got a reading for DownStream connection, but that's the max speed on the account/line and doesn't say anything about the line quality.

Haven't done any downloads, but browsing is snappy as hell for local and international. Latency in general also seems to be back compared to what I'm used to here in the EC

@SCHUMI-4-EVA , according to this pdf of your router it is under Maintenance > Show Statistics. Can you double check please. :) Edit: see page 68.

Ah yes, thanks. Don't know how I missed that but it is indeed there. (It's almost as if that button didn't exist before asking this question XD).

So my downloads have been good so far in JHB (west), been getting good-ish speeds (question on that though at the bottom), although my Browsing was nearly crazy slow last nite @ around 19:00 was even getting "Page could not be displayed" errors, but my HTTP downloads were crazy fast though (well normal speeds of 230+Kbps) yesterday afternoon... So now for my question, (i have come to terms with the whole throttling/shaping things, so i schedule my Downloads for after hours, and if i really need to download i will accept the slow speeds of during the day) when i 1st got my uncapped 2meg line, i used to get p2p speeds of max 230kbps, but now for some reason im only getting max speeds of 150kbps (im not complaining, honestly, its better than nothing, and you know the whole beggars and choosers things meh...) im just saying, why??

Streaming 480p on my 2MB Uncapped without any hassles. Managed this 13 minute video without any buffering at all.

Okay something weird is going on. I have 3 pc's, netbook, 2 ps3"s and one smartphone on my lan.
I can only connect with my 1 pc and cellphone via wireless to the internet.
The rest can not connect to the internet?
I've changed ports where ethernet cable connect, I've changed DNS addresses and I've manually configured IP addresses.
I have connected a wireless dongle to another pc and it connected via wireless to my router.
I tried a PPPoE connection on that pc for Telkom and it could connect.
I then tried another ISP vie PPPoE connection and it immediately worked.

I have switched of the pc that can connect to the net and I have removed the cable from the route, but I can't get any other hard wired device on the internet via Telkom.
I also moved the cables around with the same result.

I will try to change my ISP details in the router itself later, but can not do it at the moment as I'm busy on the Net atm.

It is as if the DHCP server does allow addresses, but if I manually configure the addresses re allowed, but does not function.

Unfortunately I borrowed my spare router to a friend in another town.

Anybody else that has more than one wired device on his lan that can confirm all of them are working?

My speeds are ok on youtube Today watched this on my 1 meg line @480p no buffering :-)

Thx.
Must be the router then.

Got 2 laptops, PC, Printer, 2 TV's, Xbox, Wii, Bluray Player, 2 Samsungs Smartphones, Tablet, 2 DS' and a 3ds all 15 devices working fine here :D

I did have problems like that with my old router so replaced with a new one and worked fine after that so the router probably got hit by a surge or something.

Have you tried factory resetting your router to the default settings and a firmware upgrade?
