I still have bad latency in LOL,im starting to think i will never be able to play online again as long as i stay with telkom!

Torrents are dead over here. At least I can browse today. Which is far more important.

Not sure what Telkom did but they can just as well turn it off now. Best P2P speed I got all day was under 0.15Kb i.e. 150 BYTES

Think I may go back to dial-up, I still have a 64K modem here somewhere

This is what my torrents look like now. Now running at almost 100 times the speed it has been doing the whole of today....

We want to be absolutely sure everything else is working. P2P was causing some of the problems we experienced last week, and I would like to see at least 24 hours of good week-day experience before worrying too much about P2P during peak hours on uncapped.

Queue your torrents, they will fly once people aren't all streaming and voyeur^h^h^h^h^hfacrbooking (after 11).

Even better, automate your torrents, and most should be down brfore 7 in the morning. If you start torrents during peal hours you're doing it wrong ....

Totally agree.... Its like this account change from being the best uncapped account in SA to the most useless account in whole of SA and that over night...... Wow they must be saving lots of bandwidth now with the new disabled service like gaming and p2p cause its basically only browsing working okayish not even good.

Something's wrong with ping and speed on Telkom 10mbps uncapped. Compared against Mweb 4mbps premium uncapped.

My downloads are automated and only run from 22H00 onwards. Been like that for months already. I have however decided to leave one file running so that I could see what the speed was like over a 24 hour period.

It has, as said, been non existent. Currently running at around 5Kb and not consistently so. It spikes every couple of seconds and in between sweet nothing. Look at the attached image. Its almost 7pm and still nothing.

Gaming is non existent. My son has stopped playing as he has pings of close to a 900ms. Been like that for the past two odd weeks.

Normal internet browsing is just as pathetic during the day. Not always, about 5% of the time. I even had Google.com time out on me three times today. Sites I frequent in the US takes up to 15 seconds to open. Have none of these problems on my mobile, on there it flies.

So yes I'm being sarcastic saying that a dial-up might be better but I doubt whether I am far off. You say that you guys want to be absolutely sure everything is working, well take it from me, it ain't....

Not coming down on you, I also worked for Telkom for a very looooong time and know what it feels like when you try and make a difference, almost like swimming up Niagara falls.

@Big Bean
May be a problem with a nearby exchange or something then. I'll try contact Telkom support. Thanks :)

Could it just be IPC congestion? but 24/7 poor latency but okayish speeds..... I don't know but its a terrible account to have atm and by the looks of it having it just as bad as afrihost had it in the start of their migration.....

This is just a God awefull account now and I feel like I need a refund the way its performing. How can i be expected to pay full price but can't even use the account.....

Well said, this Telkom "uncapped" account is about as useful as what I got from Axxess for R99.00 per month, 2 years ago. A severe reduction in performance since early to mid May 2013, but no notification from Telkom that they would be stripping the service.

If P2P is not restored to pre May 2013 performance, Telkom can keep there uncapped browsing service.

Yeah not even 1 of the other ISP's are this heavely shaped or degraded and IS is quite strict during the day on weekdays....

Yeah, Telkom had it for a while there. But the account is basically unusable now.

Cannot do anything with this account. Youtube = dead, Torrents = dead http downloads= forget about it - they just time out.

Speeds fluctuate from 0 - 1 - 43 - 450 - 0 - 1 - 0 - 1 - 450 - 4 - 1 .... and so it goes on like it has for the past 3-4 weeks now.

This account is belly-up! Afrihost free 1gb going strong! WebAfrica free account = Ok, Axxess free account also strong. Using Telkom Internet is like pulling teeth... without painkillers... at your own expense. Sounds like sadomasachism to me!

dood muerto ميت νεκρός мертвий morte 死んだ halott 死 მკვდარი мёртвы kuollut ... at least google translate works. That should keep me entertained while Telkom 'fix things'

Dead in the water this side... Been on holiday though - so at least I've been missing the suffering... Down to an absolute crawl... This is getting super frustrating, and I'm nowhere near a "power user" - some peeps must be pulling their hair out/ready to commit murder already...

Is there going to be a light at the end of tunnel soonish - that is not the proverbial train?

Still 600ms + in games so problems with the account still

Ping Tests, Tracerts and speedtests are fine so can only presume they shaping gaming protocols or theres something broken
