I did the pingtest.net test in Linux as well and on that pc it ran well over 700ms.
 
Ok, this is just terrible, I can't even download a driver from roccat.org. the best speeds I get are 2Kb and then it looses the connection, keeps timing out trying to reconnect. Nothing like having Telkom ruin a perfectly good gift to the missus.

Looks like exchange congestion - not much ranger can do there.

There's certainly something odd happening, my VPN to Grahamstown pings at 250ms and the Queenstown VPN at 90ms :confused:

Edit: GTown = 105.227.xxx.xxx, QTown = 105.225.xxx.xxx

I don't want to just complain over here. It is called feedback after all. So I would like to give Kudos to The Ranger Squad. Downloads running at line speed since yesterday with no hiccups. :love:

A crap, that's not really what I wanted to hear :(. The real sad part is that it only started this week, so thought it might be related to what everyone else was getting. Now I'm just a really sad bunny. I take it that I'm screwed until about the year 3015 when Telkom decide to actually upgrade the exchange? Although from reading previous posts, I think even 3015 may be a tad optimistic.

No. 3015 is the target date for Local Loop Unbundling. Your exchange will be upgraded after that.
 
I can't complain about my general internet experience today. Browsing was good and the same for my http downloads.
I viewed a GT5 / GT6 comparison video in 720p without problems.

I would say it is the best for me in a long time.
It is only the latency that is still bad. I game via a PS3, so yes the latency is a concern.
 
Good start to this month at 210GB combined :D on 10MB. Testing should be much better than last month since i didn't even become RED :p.

xrapidx , how are things for you?
 
It's been 2 days, and I haven't had to reboot my router once. Definitely an improvement. Streaming has been great, and http dl's are also flying. Happy camper ... for now :)
