When our portion was completed, the IPNet planned work was still being done, so load-balancing over the new link could not be tested.

There is still some work to be completed in this regard before we can actually allocate any more bandwidth, but we hope it will be completed before the evening peak.

Load balancing looks to be working correctly now, so we have allocated more bandwidth, and it looks to be adequate so far.

:D

With the app store on iTunes also busy, i can imagine alot of demand on the network last night :p.

Good read as always :) since we know what is happening.

Where do we subscribe to ranger's twitter

My issues seem to be just Microsoft downloads, everything else is doing fine.

I have considered creating a twitter account to match, but may have to check with the social media team. My personal twitter account has less activity than my posts on this thread ....

MickeyD, you jealous bro :D?

Whatever makes it convenient for us/you to keep updated on what is happening. A fine balance between network changes and what you eat (wait, that sounds creepy) :p. No pressure otherwise, i personally think you don't want to see alot of "where is ranger" posts :).

Hey Ranger, did you get my PM?

Ranger, why are websites dead slow at the moment (cant barely load youtube nevermind watching a video), but downloads are going 1MB/s (full line speed) ?
In Durban.

Routing to UK is a bit strange, I am getting higher pings to UK than Germany, surly I should get better pings to UK since WACS lands in London?

They are all pretty bad. I have gone from mweb to plugg to TI and I use vox datapro at work. None of them gave/give 100% solid service.

Plugg is for consumer home use. Not business use. No wonder you weren't happy. Pay for a proper business account for work.

Very quiet here today.....
Must mean all is good :D
Or everyone is too busy downloading

Aaaarregghhhhh. My Dlink router states that my Adsl status is unconfigured. What does that mean?

It was working fine 10 minutes ago

Either your router lost all it's settings and basically returned to a factory state (likely after a firmware upgrade) or your ADSL filter on the phone line got fried.

Mine's done that several times over the past few weeks. Gotten used to all the required settings - so annoyance more than anything. But since the router is 7 years old already, it's to be expected, I guess.
