The last fault I booked got cleared without anyone doing anything.

I am sure you are aware of a Telkom Rep on Mybb who can help you with this? Also try the social media team on FB.

Hey Ranger or TelkomZA Rep please help

4MB line
4MB uncapped
Running at less than 1MB :(
Previous speedtests always ran at +-3.40MB

http://www.speedtest.net/result/2840737396.png

I never had a problem when on 2MB at all, my account ran flawlessly now this.

Pings seem on par but download speed is terrible and youtube buffers on 720p.

EDIT: Some more speedtest results and a tracert to www.bbc.uk

Send a PM to TelkomZA with your details.

Thanks if I get no response from them I'll drop TelkomZA a PM.
I guess I was kinda hoping someone on here had some answers.
I added my tracerts etc
I'm stumped, tomorrow I guess I'll try hash up my old afrihost free 1gb account to test.

Mine is the same. They cancelled the 2nd fault today.
I'll PM TelkomZA

I have PM'd him and I posted on their Twitter account.
I'm waiting for a response.

So I am definitely a victim of DSLAM congestion at present ... I am not aware of any other problems though.

So,

Just a head's up to everyone... I requested my TI ADSL *account* to be cancelled with Telkom (more than 3 weeks ago). Wasn't too impressed with the performance,

This is the only thing I can influence. And I think we fixed it for the large majority of people between the 4th (for Cape Town) and the 9th (for Gauteng) of July, unfortunately we were waiting for infrastructure that takes time ...

TI unable to provision the account correctly (unable to log into my email / usage tracker / etc) and couldn't really be bothered to sit on the phone for hours on end with Telkom to sort it out - I mean hey, if you can't provision a account even, then obviously there are issues on your side.

There are no *technical* issues. Can't say anything about the rest.

What does Telkom do?

Let's clarify. The *agent* did this. This is not the documented business process. You have provided no information that we can use to escalate to the relevant call centre.

more than 3 weeks later after requesting them to cancell my TI account, they go and cancel the TI account (finally), my ADSL Service, and my bloody phone line!!!! Everything, cancelled. NO SERVICE WHAT SO EVER.

Thanks Telkom. I guess it doesn't matter what you do, your image will just plain and simply never change. You CANNOT be trusted, and you will NEVER be able to operate as a respectable company.

Conveniently, everything was ofcourse cancelled Friday afternoon just before they go home, and conveniently, now I have to wait untill Monday to process cancellations on the cancellations that was incorrectly issued by Telkom Internet.

Correction, your cancellation was handled by 'Telkom', not 'Telkom Internet'. As far as I know, the Telkom Internet call centre may no longer cancel *anything*, cancellations go to the Telkom Options Centre (which handles *all* cancellations).

Now, my disclaimer has always been that I can assist with any telkomsa.net service, except I can't help with cancellations, and I can't do activations myself (but if someone suspects a mistake, I can verify, and escalate having it fixed). I can't do anything about any other issues, be it phone lines, ADSL lines, any billing issue on those.

This thread is *NOT* about call centre issues, it is *not* about lines or ADSL cancellations. Normal forum etiquette is that you start your own thread if you can't find one where your post is on-topic. I will not respond to any other similar posts in this thread, besides linking to this reply.

I did see your post on the weekend, but I tried to have *one* weekend without worrying work-related issues (since I got back from leave), and there was nothing I could do anyway.

Now, if you don't object, I will see if we can use this as an example when engaging with the call centres, but I can't promise that anything will change.

And this morning all is back to normal, WTF?!?

This I can live with but last nights sub 1MB was torture

I can old get full line speed at around 5 AM. In the afternoon its back to 1Mb/s

I hope this is not signs of congestion.... but the 2nd and 3rd hops on my tracerts are normal and local pings under 50ms

Whats wierd is that I never had an issue on 2MB at all. I been on 4MB for 2 weeks now and last night was the 1st time I got such terrible speeds since joining Ti.

Not really sure what point you are trying to make.

1. That traceroute shows a perfect ADSL line and ISP.
2. The download speed you get on said line just confirms what the traceroute was showing.

A traceroute means a lot, if you take it at the correct time, ie. when there is actually a problem.

So I PM'd TelkomZA last night regarding my sub 1MB speedtests and slow downloads. Got a reply this morning with a reference number. Brendan, Telkom Tech, has just finished up at my house, he found an intemittent fault and did an end to end test and repaired the line.

I'm super impressed to say the least. Thank you TelkomZA!!!

I will test my line again tonight to see if my problem is resolved.
