I think he means no torrents will give good speeds during this time? I stand corrected if I am wrong.

My big question is does Telkom Throttle and if so what would be considered abuse or a heavy user. I am think about switching to a 2mb line and was wondering if 200gb download in a month would be considered excessive? :erm:

Yeah I gathered But this is contradictory to everything I've heard...

I've heard of people doing 400GB per month on a 4mbps without issues, so it stands to reason 200GB on a 2mbps should be okay. Someone who's been with TI for longer than I have needs to confirm this, though.

My torrents were always running fine 24/7. At this very moment I'm getting 0-10 KiB/s and this has become more common in the last 3-4 weeks or so.

I see others here with no issues whatsoever (I was in the same boat before) and their torrents are going like the clappers. Could you please explain to me how you guys are shaping/throttling torrent traffic, are you doing it on a per user or per dslam basis depending on user abuse or dslam congestion? It does not appear that you guys have a common policy across your network?

I'm just trying to understand what's going on.

I'm just trying to figure out what's going on as it does not look like dslam backhaul congestion & normal downloads (http/ftp) are fine yet torrents have become dead in the water for me where before there were no issues.

I can't stream anything from the BBC tonight. What average speed are you lot getting at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics ? I'm getting 236kbps at the moment

Torrents and streaming were slow for me on Sunday morning, switching between TI uncapped & TI capped accounts made no difference. The problem cleared by the afternoon.

Currently got 3 torrents running which are maxing at my 380kB/s limit (TI uncapped).
