Telkom Internet Usage Tracking Tool shows 0.GB used

where i come from protesters are shot and the goverment bills their families for the bullets that killed them

...okay maybe not that bad :)
stealing just gets to me. look at it from this angle. here's Koosie, he has an extra 1 gig account he uses to pull 11gig from the local newsserver and/or private torrents with his 10 megabit line every month, but this month he notices the blended is not capping when it should and the local usage on the tracker shows zero used. now instead of practicing his usual restraint he usually would to avoid exceeding his local allowance, he goes and ques up 100 gig of stuff. in his mind it's cool because some guy on the internet told him they only charge for exceeding local.
in my eyes Koosie didn't pay for 89 gig of that 100. sad thing is there's many Koosies out there and they probably end up getting away with it, resulting in everyone paying these crazy transit costs over our failing network till like 2030

Well then Telkom should see to it that they don't make such mistakes, as they are the ones responsible for the cap malfuction. Remember that there are many users who AREN'T like Koosi, and who therefore would be billed unlawfully. Also, we're paying for service. If you don't deliver and/or mess up on your end, why should the customer be burdened in addition?

I was just incorrectly billed for my first month of the 3 month trial as well.. arrg. Telkom Telkom.

Ok it would seem that the tracking tool is back online... Or is it? Right now it's pretty much stuck again. It reports that I've used 4.1GB, and 367.1MB for this session, but it won't budge past 367.1MB... And I think I can recall it reporting that I'd used 3.9GB the first time I checked it today. But now it appears stuck again.

Can anyone confirm whats going to happen about this? My Blended Usage is over 30GB and no local has been used.

This is not cool!

And what happens if you do get billed?
"As long as we don't get billed, I think it's super cool :-)" - doesn't that statement answer your question? I mean, if I say "As long as we don't get billed, I think it's super cool", then BASIC LOGIC mate... replace "AS LONG AS WE DON'T GET BILLED" with "IF WE GET BILLED", and the result is pretty straight forward. Am I still gonna think it's super cool? Of course not.

But we won't get billed. I've never been billed for overuse on blended before (and rightly so, according to their ToS), so it would show a lot of inconsistency and unprofessional conduct (not to mention breach of contract?) on Telkom's behalf if they do suddenly bill everyone for over-usage this month, for their own maintenance (which they did not caution us about by e-mail or other means anyway)

dude, show me where in the terms it's written that they will not charge for blended overuse, guarantee the effectiveness of the tracker, and state that it isn't the user's responsibility to also do his own monitoring.
you know.. actually, those ppl pushing their luck should push even harder. laughing at them when the axe falls would be pretty cool

It's doing it again.... 20GB on the 16GB account.

Using the "Local Only" now... but still on blended.

P.S I am making use of the service as I always would have.... i.e SAIX News Servers.

I shall not exceed another 30GB as expected per this account.

I am too afraid to use my account :(
I know too many people have gone over their blended usage by now in the month. They surely won't all be billed for this Telkom error... and Telkom can't only charge a handful - where do they draw the line? So I've decided to browse along happily - I think the unnecessary stress this causes, and the lack of confirmation/communication from Telkom to us about it, alone justify my decision to continue to use my account despite exceeding my blended cap. In fact I'm making the most of it now... :-)
