I'm running 50Mbps but am only getting 420kbps - why's this?

awh the speeds are back to normal again it seems. I hope they test again soon. Waited all this time for October to arrive, and now I have to wait for MARCH?!

The line/speed upgrades have been postponed to March 2010.

Nah, it can't be indefinitely. Telkom has to upgrade sooner or later or they will be left behind as a competitor. One day LLU will be unbundled and telkom needs to be in the best possible position when that happens.
Well we hope so but with government seemingly postponing LLU all we can do is sit and hope for change....

sorry if it is a dumb question, but is telkom going to charge you slighly more next year for upgrading our line speed or is it free, i'm asking because is it a good idea to upgrade from 384 to 512 now and get an upgrade next year or is it better to stick with my line?
Can't answer your question but compare the cost of the 512 line vs the 384 line... more than double the cost. Are you getting double the line speed improvement?
