No one said that... But the first step in trying to help is to confirm is he's on the latest FW or not.

And Android TV 8.x is as realistically as possible, up to date.

Just got my lit box and it was already on the latest software. Doesn't look like it'll ever recieve an update.

What what exactly do you want ?

I just bought my laptop and I'm still on Windows 10.

Dell are useless :/

My current phone still gets updates 2 years later, Xiaomi mi6. but I've had that problem in the past, sucks balls. For instance I have an old iPad that no longer supports Netflix

In regards to the lit box I'm not concerned as much about fixing bugs as I am about app support.

Wait till Netflix or DStv now needs an updated os to function and we're all out of luck. Would much prefer the product to continue getting updates even if its once a year.

If its really discontinued as one member was told then updates are unlikely.

It isn't discontinued.

If a box is certified with Netflix or Google on 8.x, the subsequent updates will remain with the certifications.
