Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Just when I get happy with the box DSTV destroys it. No Live tv option anymore no matter what I do. I tried the recommendations fix but nothing. Even reset the box nothing. Works fine on my phone and pc. I can even cast from my phone to the lit box but can't get the live tv link in the app on the lit box anymore. :mad:

I thought it's because I forgot to close it and was streaming Mnet the whole night. When I went back then then I see it's all gone but catchup works fine.

Anyways atleast casting works fine so if I need to watch now I will just cast it.
 
Wait does DSTV not work at all now?

I watched rugby on Sat and it was fine!?

No - his Live TV option disappeared - I have a suspicion that this happens when you switch the box off without exiting the DSTV Now app first. Just a suspicion mind you at this stage.

Ok, I think I have found why Live TV doesn't always show up in DSTV Now.

Goto "Settings" of device, then to "Home Screen", and then to "Recommendations Row" and disable DSTV Now recommendations.

Then you can press and hold HOME button to bring up running apps, kill DSTV Now if running, and then launch DSTV Now.
 
This thing is hungry on batteries. Mouse starts going around like crazy!

I'm on the hunt for a decent remote with keyboard and mic. Any recommendations?

I think we should add a list of 100% compatible remotes on the home page

I tried that but did not seem to work. Leaving the box off not standby powerd off for two hours and then opened the dstv app and it was still not there. So I killed the app and relaunched it again and it showed up again.

It's not the device acting up. It's the app. Happening across all platforms

Yes I know but I tried everything. Reinstalling clearing data, clearing cache nothing seems to work. So i wonder what actually makes the app hide that option because usually wiping data or cache and reinstalling should have solved it.

It's a problem with 2.0.5 Uninstall and reinstall 2.0.4
 
A06 airmouse is eating batteries... it seems to be 'on' most of the time as you can hear the high pitched electronic-humming when you [-]hold it close to your ears[/-] are within 2 meters of the thing.

Yep. Landed up buying rechargeable batteries since I had to replace them so often. Now I don't mind them going flat.
 
Have you heard/received anything from Telkom?
I just received this so it seems as they are going to repair my 3 week old lit box?
Ridiculous.

“Your LIT TV TVB100 TELKOM has been allocated to a Repair centre for repairs - Ref. We will contact you with any updates. Telkom Mobile. Please do not reply to this”

Yeah got the same sms today.

Now we wait.

Nothing from telkom since. :whistle:

8 April - lit booked in
17 April - received sms that box was allocated to a repair centre.

Nothing since. Day 24 now.

I really hope that they exchange the box. I can not wait to sell this thing and get rid of anything that has any sort of relation to telkom.
They started phase 2 for fibre in my area. As soon as this is completed I will finally have the freedom to wave this useless company goodbye.
 
Yeah my contact has gone radio silent on the replacement of my box.
And now the HDMI port has started acting up.

/sigh
 
Well, as soon as i get word back from them i will be asking them to replace the box regardless of whether it has been repaired or not.

CPA wins, and their terms and conditions state so.

I intend to take it up with a store manager, and also throw their own ts and cs in their face should i not get a positive response.
