Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Going to guess, its part of the registration of devices. I only see one device being registered, despite having it on multiple devices

I do not know, I just have an unsubstantiated feeling that the file system does not always get cleaned up properly after some installs and that doing a full factory reset mostly fixes this.

Pain to re add all the apps again though lol

Okay 2nd update done. Can’t get DSTV Now working sadly. I enter the code needed, but nothing happens on the tv app

Shows success once I enter the code, but nothing on the app on the litbox. @Nology can you check on this please?
Exact happened to me and I even asked about it here. I thought it was a DSTV issue at the time.
Just wait a few hours and try again

Should all A11 devices have gotten the update by now? I still have no luck on mine. Tried factory reset again. Have the network cable plugged in.

Its about where your box serial number is in the queue it seems. The update it seems is pulling in serial numbers, so it's not a standard one update for all devices

Do you need to leave the box switched on for the update to download and the prompt to appear or will the prompt appear before the update is downloaded?

Your box does need to be on, otherwise the update wont push. It doesn't install automatically, you have 2 options.

Install or later. So you can either decide to install or do it later, but i wouldnt advise anybody to install later.

Also i suggest you do not leave your SD card in the slot, as this will push out an error. So those who have not received the update, please ensure you don't have a card in

Hi everyone, new member but I've been following this thread since I got my LIT box. Anyway, I just thought I'd let everyone know about my experience with the update as it may help some people. So I have the A11 and I'd been receiving the popup notifications to update for the past week or so. Every time I tried to install it though, I got the bot with the error. After checking up on this thread I decided to factory reset my device and remove the sd card I had formatted as internal memory. The problem was I stopped getting the popup update notifications. So today I emailed Nology with the details mentioned previously in this thread - serial # and MAC address, asking for another popup notification. I never received a response BUT I did receive a popup notification to update. I decided to take the plunge despite hearing many A11s being bricked and updated my device. I updated while connected via an ethernet cable just to be safe. Everything seemed to work out but then it froze on the new home screen with a green background overlay. Felt a bit worried so let it sit for a while. I then tried the power button, tried to reset by pressing long on the power button and eventually just pulled the power plug out and put it back which worked. It started up fine and then I got busy, by the time I got back the second update popup appeared and I installed that one as well. This time the home screen loaded perfectly with no issues. Netflix, Showmax and DSTVNow were preloaded - Showmax and DSTVNow both worked on a brief test.

Welcome. Lucky you. I am still avoiding the upgrade like a plague. :P
