Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Quick question. Im running HDMI from litbox to tv for picture. My question is, best to run Optical from litbox to soubdbar or tv to soundbar?

Can't you just run HDMI > soundbar > TV?

The only difference would be that if you dont connect Tv => Soundbar as well other inputs to the TV wont play sound via bar.

HDMI > soundbar > HDMI ARC > TV or TV > optical > Soundbar are probably prefered since then everything the tv plays will be played via the soundbar.

Lit > optical > soundbar will only play the lit box audio via soundbar.

Man, this stuff got really complicated, and figuring out which between your TV or Soundbar actually have the best DAC is even more of a pain.
 
My 1st device was upgraded on Saturday night. Does anyone know what's supposed to happen after you press the Telkom LIT icon (top right)? I can't seem to load Mobdro or TV App Repo; sideload launcher still works though. Am I alone?
 
My A11 is still sans update. Should I be worried? Do I need to connect via ethernet or is wifi fine for push notifications?

Mine was connected to Wi-fi when the popup appeared but before I continued I decided to plug in an ethernet cable instead just to be safe. Had a black screen with the first update. Pulled the power cord and then booted to the second update popup. DSTV Now is working just fine.

My first LIT box update yesterday evening, and have yet to try fiddling with it, other than setting the time format. Second one, bought about 6 months after the one that updated, has yet to update.

When I have time I will fiddle and see what happens.
 
Also noticed that after the update the CEC language no longer defaults to Chinese or something else. This option is off by default

That was because of the LG TVs ... was safer to have it off

Still on track - they just want to do all the A11 first.

So, maybe they'll start next week. I'm sure Nology will let us know for sure, or I'll see what I can find out. But the A11 are still ongoing

Just dropped in to see anything happening since my A11 still has not received the update either and got what I was looking for.
