Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

I suppose I only need to be concerned with the video signal, can I go mono jack out on the LIT box to single RCA on the video (yellow) input on the TV?

It probably won't like that, I think a mono jack would short LR and video together.
 
So is it one of the mini jacks with 4 connections (TRRS)/ If so, where would I connect video?

Using the image above of Camcorder AV, tip is left audio, 1st ring is video, 2nd ring is ground and sleeve is right audio, are you saying that yours is wired tip to video, 1st ring to ground? Or sleeve to ground?

I finally managed to get my LIT plugged in to a TV that can do 1080p and it was fine. Frustrating that hteh auto function does not auto switch to correct resolution. Did second update then changed it to 720 60Hz and plugged in to my original screen.

This is a real issue for those that don't have easy access to a higher resolution TV. Maybe for those that struggle speak to your closest TV store / friend / colleague and see if they will allow you to plug in to in to their newer TV so you can switch the TV setting to 720 so it can work.
The second update also wipes settings, so best to get through and lower resolution before plugging back to original TV.
 
What does one do with an A11 that has been bricked due to update. Its not a resolution problem. The unit does not swith off via the remote or frount panel. What it the turn around time for telkom to replace. I take it they will repair or replace under warranty. Anyone sent there units back please give feedback. Thanks

Contact @Nology. I took mine to him and he fixed in 10 minutes.

Okay so my box got upgraded, how do I sideload apps now? Normally I would allow the option to install unknown apps under security and restrictions menu.

I see this option is now locked?

Am I missing something?

Install ES File Explorer from store. Then when you go to the option, it will list it there (from what I remember). If not, then copy the APKs to USB stick, and when browsing with ES, select the APK and it will ask to install at which point you can grant access to install "from unknown" from ES.
