Escape and backspace doesn't work on my keyboard anymore.


Also bare in mind the box got reset

I don't use the remote as it broke a long time ago and I can't use TV remote as I need to switch CEC off due to my TV amp and lit box having issues

The update log that displays on screen before the update says:
1. Netflix app update
2. Google security patch

No UI changes, besides the settings menu which just got cleaned up a little and rearranged.

Depends what you're looking for. Mine also is beyond 3 years, but I literally only use it for DSTV Now, and Typhoon TV.
DSTV Now has also been pushed aside because they started blocking VPN's so I'm having trouble connecting.
Youtube and Netflix is on my TV.

I think these boxes are still good enough to make a dumb tv 'smart', or to use for secondary TV's around the house.
 
No update for me yet on my two LITS.

I can say that they have been flawless since the Android 8 update whenever that was. Even though I am in UK, I use them daily for all my TV needs.

DSTV Now (via VPN)
Netflix (4k subscription)
Amazon Prime
Disney+ (mainly for the kid)
Rakuten TV (Movie rentals)
YouTube Premium (now working with HDR)
YouTube Kids

If those 2 don't work anymore what do you use to go back?

Is that a Nology "feature" or courtesy of android 9?

Haven't received an update on mine yet either.
 
F2 button looks like a right mouse click which is by default back on Android device.

Not sure why the esc or backspace doesn't work as it used it. It works in Kodi and Zion .

I despise airmouses. I use the Logitech k430 I think with built in trackpad
 
After latest update, how do I stop the litbox from going to sleep (turning off after sometime being idle) I use the RII I8+ so I cannot switch it on with a remote. Very annoying after sitting down to get back up to switch on

Either of those buttons have worked as back on all Android devices I have used an external keyboard with, ironically also the Litbox until this update.
 
Found an Issue on my LIT box today - Onscreen keyboard was not displaying. I could only use the "talk" function. Well that did not help...

In Settings/Keyboard, There was no Current Keyboard active, and I had 3 items listed under Manage Keyboards. GBoard was switched off and grayed out, and I could not activate it. Google voice typing was active but grayed out and Virtual Remote keyboard inactive. Switching on Virtual Remote Keyboard activated Google voice typing, which I could turn on and off, but GBoard remained grayed out. Trying the various combinations of the two available did not change anything regarding the no display on screen.

Frustration, Google searches, and looking throughout settings did not find a solution the issue, until I read something on the KODI forums (was getting desperate for a solution before resetting to factory settings as a prelude to turfing the box). Gave it a try and problem was miraculously solved.

Solution -
Go to language settings, and change the language to English (US) (I was on English (UK)). Suddenly GBoard was the Current Keyboard and active, and my on-screen keyboard appeared.
Now I have no idea what caused this issue - It was working fine a few weeks ago, and I don't mess around with settings when things are working. So maybe some of the MyBB boff's can add comment or explanation here.

I trust that this post will help others who find themselves in the same predicament, and won't have to spend 4 hours trying to find a solution.
