Telkom LTE Uncapped

So I ordered my LTE Uncapped on the 2nd of June.

When can I expect a call from them? I received my email with a reference number. Tried giving them a call to find out, yesterday, but I held on for 15 minutes so just gave up on that idea.

It might take a while since your still dealing with Telkom. But the good news is that the actual LTE service is great. I don't use the external antenna provided since our body corp is a bunch of douche nozzles, so my speed hovers between 15 - 30 Mbps, yet we still stream Netflix and Showmax without issues.

Downloads are quick and general web browsing is a treat. A definate improvement over my 2 Mbps ADSL.

Just put the antenna inside?

That's what we did at my partner's flat :D Works great. Gets around 40mbps in off peak times.

Ordered mine on Monday morning ... went through an excellent Telkom reseller here in Cape Town ... dsltelecom.co.za .... They sent the paperwork through for me on Monday morning... I got the confirmation by 3pm that my application was successful. They are now waiting on the Courier Delivery reference from Telkom, which they say will be confirmed by Telkom either today or tomorrow, with expected delivery this week !!! .... Blown away, as a very different experience from dealing directly with Telkom. It's nice to have someone else do it on your behalf and it works a treat ! :)

Er.... as I sit here, I have an update on my order .... I will copy and paste, so you all know how blown away I am too !!! ....

I was tracking your LTE order now – I see that the couriers have now captured your order and delivery will take place tomorrow.

I will track your order again in the morning to ensure that the delivery process is as smooth and easy as can be.

Please remember to send me a copy of the delivery note once you have received your order, so that I can pass it onto Telkom and get them to activate the SIM for you.

Enjoy the rest of your day further!"

So, the moral of the story is don't go directly to Telkom.. use a reseller !!!! :D

I'm going try get a reseller as well then >.<

But they don't have the uncapped option though?

Oh, and I got my Telkom SMS this morning stating delivery will be made today between 11am and 1pm.... am I rubbing it in a bit too much ? ;) ..... but be assured I am beyond impressed with this whole procedure.. .and it's a far cry from my last Telkom direct experience. :p

Keeping my options open.

BUT, I just received an email saying I don't quality for the promo...not sure why as I have signal (checked with my BF's router). The email doesn't say why and I was on the line for 30 bloody minutes to the call centre and just gave up.

So it seems I will be going with Level-7's Wifi. Just wish it was a tad faster for a better price :(

Just took delivery of my router, sim and external antenna @ 1pm today .... Now it's time for setup and testing

I managed to get my order placed , Did the whole credit check ... blah blah , Approved at back office .
And that's it ... I haven't heard a single thing since , no order number , no sms , no call , no mail . .

Same here, I went to a shop on Sunday and was advised they'll call me within 72 hours. No Call, no SMS only a survey to rate their service ... Going back tomorrow to see what is what.

I was approved for a contract back in February/March only to be informed the information that they have available on the credit bureau doesn't match. Signed up with cell C and my contract was approved and dispatched on the same day

@Method please check your private messages, dropped you contact details with someone you can liase with. Good luck

Ok so I finally managed to speak to someone again ,Request is still with their back office, Also they do not supply you with an order number for tracking purposes. The only time they supply you with a "Tracking number" is when the request has been sent to their couriers ,

They also only proceed once a debit on your account has been made.

So you basically have no idea what's what until then.

They Have the same deal for R 799 and I have sent in my applications ect ect yesterday and got smses this morning from telkom saying that they are busy processing my application and will notify if its successful or not.

Im quite amazed. Telkom shot me down because of "there is not enough ports open in your area" pfftt I CALL B$^^**$

Wouldnt trust that company as they don't have HTTPS on their website
