I know this question is on a lot of peoples' minds. We see these ultra high LTE speed tests and the latency is good. Does this really translate to gaming though?

I know the yellow SP are blocking incoming ports and users have reported being unable to play PS4 games. It seems for now that Telkom Mobile is the only viable gaming LTE service.

I personally don't play a lot of games anymore but did have a 12 hour marathon Diablo III Reaper of Souls session yesterday. Overall I was happy with our LAN session. Generally the ping hovered around 240ms with an occasional dip to 700ms odd. The higher latency could easily be attributed to the battle.net servers which are known to be oft overloaded.

Please post all pings here for all online games you play.

You need to enable the unrestricted apn on the networks.

Care to explain more? I've never heard of such a thing.

If you want to play BF4, forget about TM LTE. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/576777-Battlefield-4-and-8ta

I forgot about that thread. Thankfully I don't play BF4 or I'd be as peeved as you guys. :(

I'm struggling to connect to any kind of gaming platform with my Telkom LTE. Xbox, Diablo, Fide Chess. Nothing is working and yet on my Vodacom LTE everything is fine. Is there some kind of setting that I need to change or something?

What makes you different from me I wonder? Played Diablo 3 again last night with another guy from Edenvale on Telkom Internet 2Mbps. While he was lagging I was humming along at 230ms.
