Telkom mobile network down

Shows Emergency calls only on my side and 112 does not work at all tried restarting device many times. Everyone at work on Telkom not working.

That is really dangerous. I didn't know that that could happen. I thought that calls to 112 work even without a sim.
 
I've been struggling all day, with Uber and access codes and payments.

Enough is enough with Telkom. Just picked up a CellC sim, porting tonight.

Telkom's pricing is good, but life's too short for this 5h1t. And while CellC's future may be sketchy, overall I detest them less than MTN and Vodacom.
 
Had a problem dialing from a Telkom sim but no issues receiving calls from other networks today

From my experience it direct to the last sim used network for 112. Since that is Telkom it's not going through.

If you take out the sim and manually select mtn or vodacom it will show no service but you will get through to their 112 call centre.
 
Telkom mobile network down

Telkom users are reporting that they are unable to connect to the operator’s network or use the Internet.

The Telkom Downdetector page showed a huge increase in reports since around 11:00.

The problems appeared to be affecting mobile users in particular, with complaints from urban areas – including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town – being the most prevalent.
Telkom......? Oh, now I remember...

I received this sms last night at 22:44 only: Telkom has restored the network outage that affected services on Friday, 7 Feb 2020. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and have loaded 500MB data so you can sorry, thank you or I love you to the one you missed on Friday. This is valid for 1 day only.

I never got the data. Still waiting, I see other people also never got it.

Thanks. I'm disappointed that (unlike in the past) MyBB didn't attempt to understand the problem, didn't indicate when it ended. They haven't yet given any Telkom updates on the issue either.
 
I got a SMS from Telkom apologising for the bad connections yesterday and have given me 500 MB of data to say sorry for the inconvenience. Data is available for 24 hours only.

Got 3 of above SMS's already totalling 1,5 GB data. :)

Is this still a thing? My wifi keeps switching on and off randomly with my Telkom LTE data sim. In Sandton CBD.

I'm using one of those pocket ZTE routers at at the office. Restarting the router makes it work fine for a few minutes before it starts switching on and off again.
