Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this query. I am somewhat technologically challenged. My elderly mother was called a couple of weeks ago and told telkom were changing to wireless throughout. The gent said someone would be in touch over the next couple of weeks to install the new hardware, for which there is no charge.
As this seemed to be a fait acompli she accepted what he said. A week later she has a delivery from telkom. No mention was made of this by the caller. I told her not to open it, the technician would when he came. A week later her landline goes dead.
She opened the box which contained a router. My kids installed it for her - she'd never have managed it herself, she's 86 for heavens sake. She's now connected with a new wireless router.
Problem is a) voice quality is shocking
b) calls cut off after 10 minutes
I'm furious that she was obvious bullied by a Telkom cold caller into getting this router and now has to deal with the issues it's bringing. Has anyone had experience of this new wireless router? Any suggestions? TIA
