Telkom slashes Uncapped ADSL prices

It is a but unfair to compare a brand new network that has had hundreds of thousands of users migrated onto it, during the first 3 days of production traffic.

We believe all the above issues are fixed.

If you didn't cancel, have you seen an improvement? Everything bug torrents was fixed by yesterday, we fixed torrents early this morning.

(You may have missed some of the other threads, where I have been providing updates)
 
Why do ons pay telkom for uncapped ADSL if they softcap you on 21Gig that is the same as one got 20 gig account please explain TELKOM

Not so sure about that - the ONLY torrents that downloaded today were ones I started last night, and they slowed progressively to a complete stop through the day. NO new torrents would start, ALL trackers timed out! Started to work - slowly - from 7pm again :(
 
Telkom may be cheaper, but Mweb is still the better stable provider...:whistle:
1Mbps cruising effortlesly @ 0.8 Mbps Down and 0.2 Up :p
 
For those on the "DO UNCAPPED PREMIUM 4mb - month to month...NO contracts @R699"...what is the PROS and CONS that you might have experienced lately?
(I don't mind the SHAPING...but if I'm THROTTLED...I'm STUFFED!)

PRO - Full speed all day (That is until 4pm then the exchange congestion kicks in till around 11pm)
CON - 12 month contract to keep ADSL with Telkom
 
You dont need to take a contract.
These accounts are throttled. On the 4Mb account it is throttled after about 450Gb.

Being with Telkom is like being in a marriage. You often threaten to divorce but then you remember the good times and decide to stick with them. I personally have such a love hate relationship with them. I cancelled my ADSL last month and here I am still with a Telkom ADSL and with TI as my ISP, why?

As much as I sometimes hate Telkom I have to give them credit for a great service. Yes their fair use policy sucks, the fact that they cannot communicate clearly about this sucks, many other things sucks BUT overall they are still the best value proposition out there. In regards to service quality, yes there has been some major issues over the past couple of months but this seems to be resolved, in most cases.

I still have problems, like today, my ADSL is stuck at around 0.15 to 0.35Mbps on a 1Mbps line. So at times very frustrating but then I have to look at the service as a whole and look at the total time I spend online. In that perspective it is only about 5%, if that much, of the time I have problems. For the other 95% the service works as it should and I do get anything up to 0.8/0.9Mbps through this line.

So in short, great value and when it works it works.
 
So: Is it worth me cancelling my MWEB 1Mbps uncapped account and moving to Telkom?

I'm already pissed off at MWEB for stuffing up my request to be downgraded from 4MB Uncapped (just too expensive) to a 1MB account so I'll consider moving it Telkom has their act together on this one.
