Telkom Soft-Capped Services

I actually reported telkom to hellopeter ... Apparently I am now being softcapped after using next to 14 gig ... NOT EVEN 20 ... I have a 1meg line uncapped... my dl speed is about 40kb/s now ... in total -

I don't quite believe that you could be softcapped at 14Gb.

I have seen nobody elde mention soft capped on a TI account.

If it is indeed the case, they never lifted your previous capoed limit.

Were you till recently on a 10GB account?

I was not notified ... just saying

So you're just going to assume that you're soft-capped when the problem is probably line/exchange related or something else on your side

Anybody else find the Telkom soft capped unusable? I prefer the old system at least then I got full speed on local, I used to switch to afrihost for international. No point in staying with Telkom now

Is any other ISP still offering "local"? I just checked the usual suspects and can't find it on offer anywhere.

I doubt it, only reason I stayed with Telkom was for the 30gig local cap now that its gone might aswell shop around at other ISP probably find a better deal now

TI uncapped pricing is on a par with the other uncapped offerings since February - just saying.

I don't like uncapped rather buy caped bandwidth and get guaranteed speeds.....matter of interest what is the avarage speed peeps get on there uncapped? on my capped account I get around 800KB/s

800KB/s - so you're on a 10Mbps line?

I can pretty much max out my 6Mbs line at 520KB/s any time of the day on my TI capped or my TI 4Mb uncapped (Telkom either can't control the uncapped account speed or just don't care).

yea I am on a 10meg, uncapped just seems too unreliable when it comes to speeds and I mean that across all Isp I would rather pay more and know when I want to download something like say a series that I wanna watch I don't have to wait a day or 2 before its done. Atm a average series of say 400megs takes me around 15-20min to download iam sure on uncapped that would be a few hours

I hear what you're saying and 2 months ago would have agreed but TI's new uncapped QoS is, ATM, so good I have been running my uncapped almost 24/7. If the QoS is still the same in May I'll reduce my TI capped to 5GB as backup along with my axxess capped.
