Telkom soft-capping everyone now?????

So we are now getting the usage exceeded message everywhere but that's utter BS. We are on a 4MBps uncapped line and yes, I know that's not full uncapped, but it's still about 260GB of use and we are nowhere near that.

Logging into Telkom's Usage portal doesn't bring up the notification that I have to accept that my usage has been exceeded (it hasn't for about 3 years now even when I was still on a soft-capped account...Telkom really need to fix that) and I'm still in the green.

Granted it could be that Telkom is emergency rationing everyone cuz their international throughput is buggered at the moment apparently but you can't simply soft-cap uncapped accounts which are at below even moderately heavy use (over halfway through the bar well into the orange zone) without issuing a press release to that effect and warning people before slamming on the brakes.

Which guru on here do I need to give my number to to reverse these apparent nonsense BS changes to my account? At least get that stupid override message to go to hell even if I have to live with soft-capped speed for a while.




Edit Nr.2: - Just for reference to those out of you that are slightly heavier users when I made this thread SAIX stats put me at 76GB total use for the month. So it's not like I was moaning about being shaped after 200GB+ use.

Maybe just KZNers then since that's where the problem seems to be at it's worst?
 
My father managed to get through to the call center (I'm at work) and the guy there seems to have been able to remove that override message so all is sloooooow but at least sort of usable again.

I'd still like an official word on the issue though. What's wrong with letting people know? at least a myBB article?

Huh? a search revealed nothing?
My google-fu must be getting weaker....then again it could be handicapped by Google connectivity being buggered.
 
My friend is still 60gb away but is still soft capped for some reason

Meanwhile the usage tracker page won't even load here at home.
What a bloody joke.
My net is so slow (or maybe it's telkom DNS issues again) that speedtest can't even load properly.

I am in Durban and I have also been softcapped by Telkom since Thursday. I last checked my usage on Tues and I was still in the green. Havnt downloaded much since last Tues and all downloads are done from midnight to 07.00

That's pretty bad. I am also on a 4Mbps Telkom line and the below speed test result is what I usually achieve

It is by luck that this page can load, fully; allowing me to post a comment.

I have an uncapped 4 meg line and I seem to have hit the threshold of 80 gigs where I am shaped to 45 kbps if I am lucky...

I need to copy and paste the above mentioned in case the message gets lost or the page doesn't load after I click "Post Quick Reply".

It wasn't about how bad I have it, it was about it being utter nonsense considering I'm on a 4MBps uncapped line that usually gets 2.6-3.4MBps on speedtests and now I'm bloody soft-capped which is completely bogus.

And that someone on here needs to help me fix it or give me a time-frame for when normal service will resume (if you say 1st of the next month I'm gonna shoot you)... where's Telkom's equivalent of Vodacom's Ockie at?

Lol, sorry to break it to you but Telkom doesn't care.

Telkomza gave up on helping us last year already I think.
