Telkom Speed upgrades

If you are on the afrihost 2mb bundled package how will you know your line has been upgraded? Will your line be upgraded and you will stay on the 2mb account?
 
Telkom Wholesale are doing the upgrades, but will Telkom Internet pass them on to all their packages? I have a 4mb uncapped contract with Telkom (think its called Premium). Will I after these changes have a 10mb uncapped line or a 10mb line throttled down to 4mb but with a slightly lower monthly price? I am unclear

Judging by the email that Telkom sent in the beginning of the month it looks like if you are on the Premium package you will be throttled down to 4mbps and will pay a bit less a month. You can probably call them and ask them to upgrade you to the Premium Plus package which is the 10mbps package but you will then pay an extra R300 odd a month.

Sure, please see attached. It doesn't actually state what will happen but if you look at the pricing blocks at the bottom it looks to me that what I said in my previous comment will happen.

My Telkom Internet 4 Mbps uncapped was upgraded automatically to 10 Mbps Uncapped on the weekend :erm:

Was your line speed upgraded or your whole package including the data package? IE: did they upgrade you from the Premium package to the Premium Plus? If so that kinda sucks if you're not wanting to pay an extra R300 a month and would prefer to stay on the Premium package. They should really explain how things are going to work going forward as a lot of people are confused. I'm just glad that I am on a capped account and don't have to stress about that ;-)
 
My friend just called Telkom now and he was told that his package will be automatically upgraded from the Premium to the Premium Plus option once the line has been upgraded to 10mbps.
