Oh well they upgraded my line to Adsl2+ but now my line is so noisy and can't call anyone cause of it and dropped to 512k instead of my 4 meg line.
Tried G.dmt and same thing.
Cant with the noisy line so will have to go to the direct store after the hail storm stops.
Report your problem to 10210.
I wonder if we will be able to motivate the upgrade by phoning them like we did last time they upgraded the line speeds? One would think if a person has already been on 4 meg before then it isn't a hardware issue at the exchange.
I'd hate to get caught by the annual freeze period over December.

BEST option EVER - they repair my faults same day / 24hours
telkom is making all the right noises under the new management
I actually agree. Telkom used to be one of the most unpopular companies in SA, but they're improving by the day. Their call centres are still ubercrap though.telkom is making all the right noises under the new management

Report a voice line fault and tell them you have very bad noise on your line. DO NOT even mention ADSL or internet. If they sort the noise out you should be fine for adsl as well.
Disconnect all devices (router, faxes, alarms, pots filters) and only connect your phone and see if you still have noise, lift the receiver and dial zero so the dial tone goes away and you should be able to hear better wrt noise.
