Telkom Speed upgrades

Hi guys.

I'm confused. I have a 4mb uncapped line with telkom (do Uncapped Premium). I know my line in my home can go so high as 8mb (10mb exchange, but apparently my home a bit far from the exchange) - had a telkom guy in my home testing it about 2 months ago. Currently the line is limited down to 4mb because I'm on the 4mb uncapped package.

Will these telkom changes in Nov mean that I will actually get faster speeds (how fast an I expect)? Or will my cost come down?

Well if you can get 8Mbps then the system will bump you up to there. You will likely pay a similar amount to what you are paying now. However if you want to stick with 4Mbps then you will be paying less than you are currently paying, but you will likely have to downgrade after the network wide upgrades, just make sure you do it during November so it becomes effective 1 December.

Thanks! Then it is good news. Maybe I just got used to being a bit sceptical. Roll on speed upgrade!
 
So the line upgrades are only happening on the 11th? Anyone with a 1Mb line seeing an upgrade in their speed?

I wish. they must hurry up with it. I did hear form my Work ISP that some areas in PE have already been bumped up. Maybe I don't count.:erm:

Not going to happen. Upping the 1Mbps guys first will mean they will be bumped to 4Mbps as well when the Mbps guys are bumped. you will possibly be last (And fairly so)

Yay....got upgraded to 2MB....
telkom is my ISP...no call logged...just restarted router and new speed was there...
Eldoraigne area....

So does this mean they are starting with the 1mbps lines first? or it could just be randome.
