So if my downstream line attenuation is 30dB, what does that mean?

Well then you should be able to get 10Mbps without any issues:

Question is what is your SNR stats? if those is not perfect also then good attenuation helps very little.

Did you guys restart your routers to get the new speed or does it resync automatically?

After I called Telkom, my router resynced automatically without needing to restart, although my router did lose sync, so I'm guessing the operator on the other side of the phone did something.

I'm waiting for OW to announce their new 4M prices.
But honestly, getting 3.57M on a 2M account is fantastic :whistling:

good stuff but is that your router sync and not your true data sync?
because you will probably find that when on the 2mb data plan you are locked in at that speed even though your router will state 4mb

My router syncs at 4096, that 3.57M was speedtest result. Was quite surprised as I thought I'd be getting around 256kB/s down (utilise the full 2M account), but instead getting around 380~450kB/s :)

TelkomZA just says infrastructure is being upgraded, speeds have always been dodgy at my exchange so perhaps its for the best. Guess I will just have to wait till the 23rd :'(

Can somebody maybe shed some light, since we (the fortunate 1's ) that have been bumped 2 > 4 Meg, how will the usage monitor/TiTracker fair with this now, coz when we were on 2meg lines we could get about 230+- Gigs a month before going red on the Tracker, now 1stly, since its Mid Month, and i am getting on average 12Gigs a day and i am already on like 180 Gigs for the months, i can easily rack another 120 Gigs till the 30th November bringing my total up to 300 Gigs, when will the TiTracker start going RED, coz right now im still very much green on my bar, and seems i still have a long way before i get RED? (That's question no. 1)

Question 2 is - Will the policy now be adjusted automatically, whereby we will fall under the 4meg bracket and the bar should now only start getting RED when we get closer to the 400ish mark? or, will we still be monitored as under the 2 Meg Bracket of about 230Gigs-ish...???

I'm leaning more towards the 400gigs mark, but whats your opinion?

And by the way, in case i wasn't clear about it, im specifically talking Telkom TI Uncapped.

WOW & ROFL = Those Noise is terrible, 3.8dB is not good at all.

SNR (Noise Table):

6dB or below is very bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no sync problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Your line attenuation is not that bad on the other hand, just that Noise, you should get Telkom to check out your line.

My stats (currently on 2Mbps):
SNR Margin (0.1 dB): 299 (D) - 120 (U)
Attenuation (0.1 dB): 240 (D) - 110 (U)
