They're waiting for Ivy and Thabo's big day.

WhenThe new act comes in, and when and if the other providers start offering LLU services, then they'll drop the prices.

Anyone know when this is likely to happen?

* Reuben September, the COO, hinted strongly that Telkom might increase ADSL access speeds without hiking prices. I understood this to mean -- and perhaps my interpretation of this is wrong though I don't think it is -- that if you're on a 512Kbit/s line now you would get 1Mbit/s for no extra cost. September also said broadband bundles (voice and broadband, say) were also planned and would be announced soon.

Yep - and I bet the 3GB cap will still be in place, which will mean you get to see you cap depleted faster

Telkom cutting prices soon?

Beginning to feel that we have a better chance of being hit by a Tsunami.

most people prefer to drive 140km/h between jhb and pta, for 20 mins, than 20km/h for 140 mins. so even if its just faster, its still better than now

The problem is that most people can't afford to drive at all.
You have to learn to walk before you run ;)

So when is this actually gonna happen? March has come and gone and no word from Telkom

As soon as the DoC look say that Prez is ready to sign into law the new act, and threaten LLU again we'll see price cuts(which is kinda what happen last month till DoC delayed again).

Hi guys/gals,

Just spoke to a friend working for Telkom. Apparently the guy (Samuel) appointed to go to each Telkom employee’s desk and turn their calendar at the end of the month, has also been on strike. They tried a temp but apparently he did not know April from June. Anyway, long story short – as soon as the strike is over, he will be updating their desktop flip-calendars and they should eventually realise that March is long gone…

Damn strikes... and there we thought they forgot about the price anouncement! :D
