...but it has taken telkom soooo long to finally understand what we have been saying for sooo long . "The more you drop the prices , the more people will join" , seem like finally they understand a small and vital concept .

Even though they have bypassed our way of thinking to get " more customers means we make more money " we just have to understand we takes us five minutes to understand takes 5 years to explain it to telkom .

I disagree with your statement that Telkom finally understands. If they did things would have been a LOT better LONG ago.

I wonder how many ppl will go over to SNO just out of principle, when their services become available to the public.

We should do what France do with these issues! Ditto!

I dont know if I am thinking of the same issues, but there were protests in the streets, cars set on fire and buildings looted. Big mess.

Let's do it!!!

Telkom announce 40% price reduction

Just stumbled across this on their site:

HomeDSL 192 down from R270 to R162 per month
HomeDSL 384 down from R359 to R215
HomeDSL 512 down from to R477 to R286
HomeDSL 1024 down from R680 to R408

Is this a april fools joke? Cos its a bit cruel considering.

Even if true Great but sorry; to little to late. Why now, to pre-empt what is coming or to influence the GVT decision making as last year, So the can now say look we reduced the prices already.

There should be no TELKOM ADSL fee only a Telephone line fee 1 time
Per gig billing should be removed or greatly reduced!

These TELKOM tricks and dubious favors do not come good.
Now half on this forum will flame me for been negative, "Bigot", and all else (Thanks Arf9999). I do not care; Telkom is a bunch of thieves. They take away what you had, brace the storm, and then give back crumbs and then everyone feel appeased and say we must thank them for it! Whimpers!

That should read:

Telkom is Africa's leading integrated communication company. We provide high priced services to all our customers.

Actually it should read:

Telkom is South Africa's leading integrated communication company. We provide high priced services to all our customers.

At least they wouldn't be lying.

Telkom is South Africa's ONLY integrated communication company. We provide high priced obsolete services to all our customers.

hmmm.. it's April now - these cuts were expected end of last month. What's happening with them?

Has anyone contacted Wally to find out why he reneged on his promise?

Does anyone know when the monopoly will end with telkom and what will happen there after?

btw howcome Zimbabwe has ADSL for R270 rental a month? all their speed sources come through South-africa anyways? wtf up wif that?

(Telkom lost a 512K broadband customer and two other consumers that knows me)

As long as we pay line rental telkom will never lose a customer.

"All your customers are belong to Us!"

rpm did post more info a few days back, after which I decided to revisit the article this thread is about, here is the key [IMO]:http://mybroadband.co.za/nephp/?m=show&id=2159The fact is that Duncan chose his words carefully, in particular "expected" does not equate to 'definitely will'.
Well apparently Wally didnt choose his words carefully enough when he was reported as saying
End of March is fairly finite.

True, but can one ever believe anything that comes from Telkodemonopolies...one can just add the dude to the list of brainwashed zombies that roam about beastly-HQ...
Exactly my point - another lie that they can be challenged on. Which brings me back to my earlier question - has anyone attempted to contact Wally?

Yeah, we should hold him accountable to his statement. End of March has come and gone already. How/who do you contact at Telkom about this? PR department? Oh Luluness. Anything closer than Wally himself will probably be denied by any other department in Telkom I reckon.

Anybody find anything post 'dem numbers here and I'll give a go at knocking on their door. The numbers published on their website and in the phone directory aren't useful at all (mainly faults, orders, etc)
