Telkom unrestricted APN slower than restricted APN

I was testing Telkom Mobile's APN pings using a vpn application called Radmin VPN, I tested both unrestricted APN as well as the restricted APN. I pinged the same person in the application using both APN's and discovered that the unrestricted APN has significantly higher latency (±70) than the restricted one. My question....Is this normal? Should the unrestricted APN be slower than the unrestricted one? Or is there some network congestion or other problem causing the higher latency?

Yep Unrestricted has always been like that. not sure if its just legacy routing they have in place.

What does a traceroute look like?

The unrestricted APN randomly breaks out at either CPT, JHB or DUR POPs, where as the normal APN always breaks out via the closest one.

You will find if you reboot your router a few times you might get lucky and eventually connect to the closest one.

An easy way to test which POP you are connected to is to browse to: https://redirector.googlevideo.com/report_mapping?di=no

Telkom has a cache in all 3 regions.

My region is CPT
Normal one breaks out at cpt as well based on that link you shared above.
