Telkom vs Web Africa FTTH, which one?

Currently torn between Telkom and Web Africa (also Telkom network) FTTH.

Originally it was a no-brainer and Web Africa would have been my choice, however since the new prices.

Options are as follows:

Telkom

40Mbps / 100GB cap / unlimited between midnight and 7am @ R 1099.00 / month
Free installation and router
50% off for the first 3 months
Minimum: 24 months

Web Africa

40Mbps / 90GB cap / 360GB midnight to 7am @ R 1038.00
R 1749.00 installation fee and free router
Minimum: 24 months on line rental
Extra: Can rent line only, but naked line is then R100 more.

Which would you go for?

I signed with WA 7 months ago (100 Mb/s, 200G a month)

Some thoughts
a) Voice - If you want to move a Telkom Voice product onto the Fibre line you have no choice. Telkom.

b) After midnight - This is neither here nor there. WA give you 4x the monthly usage which most people can't use

c) Support Desk - No contest here. Getting hold of WA is easy and they aren't bad

d) IPC capacity - Although IPC doesn't hurt one much with larger bandwidth packages it is true that WAs IS IPC links are clogged.
My speed drops to about 60 Mb/s. Having said that I can't dell the difference between 60 and 95 Mb/s

e) Bundles - WA allow you to unbundle your line from your usage. I like this
You can move your data elsewhere if you want to

f) Price - Ignore. It will change. Much of a muchness

Also with WA, it looks as if you can upgrade/downgrade your data allowance, and even data size all within the same contract period which seems to be a plus. Can't find this info from Telkom.

Thanks for the input.

Since Telkom's 100Mbps offer includes 200GB of data, their one costs R1599, whereas you can get 100Mbps from WA for R1148 (all be it will 100GB cap + after hours). This is also tempting, but since I'm currently on 4Mbps ... 40 Mbps alone would be :p

Could count the times I've have to call an ISP for support on two fingers.

Telkom confirmed price be adjusted with any future reductions.

I think the fact that Telkom's current offer will cost me R3397.50 less in the first 3 months will be the deciding factor.

Can you also move your fax line and number to the fibre line?
 
Yes, the basic voice service over FTTx will have a wire line quality characteristic and offer similar, but not identical, features as the current copper based POTS services. The voice service is delivered directly via the two analogue RJ11ports on the ONT allowing the end user to use traditional analogue CPE devices. Consumer developed a second Customer Value Proposition with Unlimited voice minutes for On-Net Calls (Quality voice) which will be available in the market on Monday 15 Dec. The FTTx basic voice service will offer basic Value Added Services such as CLIP, Call-catcher, Call Answer etc, and will support existing calling plans for both Business and Consumer markets.

Does anyone know if this voice service is included with the standard Telkom FTTH service and if there is an additional service cost? Would these RJ11 ports also support FAX services?
 
OK, so Telkom don't always suck. Placed order on Tuesday evening after 5PM and they just called to book installation for Monday.

6 days. Not bad.

I mean you can ditch your analogue line and use the RJ11 ports on the back of the fibre modem for voice calls. That is what I was told by Telkom rep. Connect your old phone to the RJ11 jack and see if you get a dial tone.
