So I'm thinking about getting WiMax but the problem is i'm currently renting a house and I can't go running around drilling holes through walls etc.

What do they actually do during a WiMax installation? How will it affect the physical property?

Wi Max

We use the Mweb WiMax. A unit is installed on our roof, and a cable carries the signal to a router.

There will be slight damage to some walls.

why not get telkom do 3G. No wires, faster speed than WIMAX and if i am not mistaken cheaper. Where are you based?

I'm in Pretoria, Brooklyn.... walking distance from the university.

Adsl is the other option, but I don't know what that installation entails either.
Is ADSL installation a better option, not in terms of price or speed, but in terms of how the property will be affected?

There will be no damage at all if you use ADSL, if you already have a telephone line.

Actually WiMax is installed by Telkom where ADSL landlines do not penetrate. Now I assume you are in an area where ADSL has not come yet and based on that 3G would be a safer bet now.

Is Mweb still offerring Mweb Wimax?

Cause 3G is not an alternative to WiMax. Wish I could get Telkom WiMax again. Was very happy with it.

Im hearing that Telkom has continued their Telkom Wimax installations, can anyone verify if this is so?
