please can someone help me.. this F modem can't assign IP's/login to the interface or anything..
when i press the reset button it does nothing... the warranty expired 17 april so yes telkom told me i must buy a new one... the router still turns on and works as a hub.. so was wondering if u chaps have some ideas 4 me..

yeah its weird.. you know when the router doesnt assign you an IP u get the yellow exclaimation mark.. and then a random 169.. is assigned.. manual assigning works but u still cant pick up 10.0.0.2

i've pressed the reset button with a pen and held it down like atleast 30 secs and nothing happens.. doesn't even kill the network connection??

Its friday!!! Advice giving is over till monday!! :D Scmukko!!! :D

Your connection MUST go down for a while, you know, while it reboots and resets.
Maybe, turn it off, push the button, and while the button is down, turn it back on.

I dont have my manual, so i can't confirm YET how to reset it.

OK, I'll give you some help to reset it... you can leave it on, get a pen or something, push in the button for a couple of seconds till your router reboots and thats it. See friday and Im helpful! Amazing! :D

ok ill hold it down while im on the forum, as im on another router but using the router as a hub it should kill my connection....... but i'm still on.. WTF?

why dont they make is a DECent reset button??

also the wireless light isnt on?? wierd?? shouldn't it been on?

I've recently seen this... twice. With Mega 100WRs. The routers were fried. Try using something thinner to press the button; you should hear and feel a distinctive *CLICK*. If the router does not even want to reset, that's a bad sign. You said you assigned a static IP address; did you configure your subnet mask correctly (255.255.255.0) ? And how about Default Gateway (10.0.0.2) ? Does the router accept wired connections (UTP / USB) ? If you are able to get a connection to the router, try login by browsing to http://10.0.0.2 (default username = "admin"; default password = "admin"), and attempt to perform a reset from there.

I had a similar problem at a clients house last week, he lost access to the mega105 router and wasn't assigning ip's, so I manually set it, I could ping the router but couldn't access it via the web interface. I switched it off and back on, but still noting, so I switced it off again and switched it back on, it took over 3 to 4 minutes for the dsl light to start flashing, the the wlan light came on then only after a few more seconds did it sync and started working again.

Mine doesn't "click" when I reset it.

I guess that means it's not resetting? Did you try statically assign an IP address and access the web interface to try reset it that way?

:D Im not the onw with the problem, just saying that when I do reset mine it doesnt click but it does reset, maybe that clicking is just evidence of something broken inside :D
