I have had at least 5 people contact me to install my telkom line after it has already been installed. I'm getting extremely annoyed with technicians phoning me everyday to install a line that has already been installed. Someone just pitched up at my house without informing me and i had to leave work. The installation was not even done properly because the unit fell off the wall and now the internet is no longer working. This is an uncapped service but I keep getting Telkom SMS to say my data is running out and I will be charged out of bundle rates. After 2 weeks I've had enough of telkom, I am so frustrated that i want everything removed, the account closed and all services canceled. I never want to hear from Telkom again!
 
Data transfer light flashing like crazy, but there is absolutely ZERO throughput...
 
Thank you Terence! 18 days of waiting and finally one Telkom technician with a little sense. Before this I'd been lied to, had my fault closed as repaired, been told all sorts of stories. You came in and saved the day. You really are my (internet fixing) hero!

Could you please look at my fault 183ATK190914. Been sitting with no internet for almost two and a half weeks, and extremely slow access from 19 Sept until the line started to died completely. Family is upset to be without internet for two weekends in a row :(
 
I've signed up for a do Premium Plus Bundlr but I'm being charged for the items in that bundle at the full price, i.e. Out of bundle prices. I've pmed, tweeted as well as 'created a dispute' but no one getting back to me. Do I need to open a case of fraud to get this resolved?
 
Thank you to Telkom in general, not sure if it was fault escalation, TelkomZA (SG) or the three faults I logged in 5 days that did the trick but the problem is finally fixed.

A technician came on-site this morning and tracked the cause of our random disconnects that started last last Monday to a now corroded joint that was made when the line was extended to our new offices 7 years ago. It was almost guaranteed that an incoming voice call would trigger a disconnect as well.

Going to test at 8mbps for a couple of days before switching back to the 10mbps profile.

how accurate is ADSL checker site in terms using google maps?

I was told that there is no ADSL capability in my new area. Checking on the above site, it states that it is "Not available", but line speed up to 2meg is there. Does this mean that ADSL only needs to be activated for the property?
I checked a property 2 houses from mine, and their max is 10meg?

Reason for my question is that if I do the same for my current property, it also states that ADSL is "Not availabe", but using my landline number indicates max speed is 10meg and current 4meg which is correct.

Can anyone shed some light in this very confused individual?

See if you can get your neighbors (or new neighbors) landline number and try use that to determine ADSL speeds / availability.

Chances are if you can get a landline, you can get ADSL.
 
Does Telkom make use of DFA's fibre? A few weeks ago they installed some fibre a bit down my road and I'm really hoping that this somehow means I can get faster ADSL. Not really sure if fibre means you can reduce the length of the copper without too much effort.
 
Been having ADSL issues for way too long now. Telkom techs keep on saying that they've fixed the problem but that is certainly not true.

In exceptional cases, yes.
 
Telkom, please take my damn money.

I'm trying to add a gig to my account because I've hit the cap, and every time I enter my credit card details it tells me there's a problem processing my payment and to contact my bank. It seems that for some reason it won't take international credit cards. I've tried 2 to no avail. It's very frustrating and it's happened before on the Telkom Mobile top up page, but at least there there are other ways to top up (nivo etc.).

Can you please get some that knows what they doing to move me to a 20meg vdsl profile.

I am getting fed up with telkom technicians I've called the call centre logged a fault then a few days later somebody from telkom comes to my house spends a few minutes playing by the router then goes to the exchange comes back to my house says he needs to check something else but can't do it because it's raining and will come back tomorrow. 3 days later I get a SMS the fault is fixed but the technician never came back.

This is not the first time this has happened. Last fault the technician said he would come back tomorrow because he didn't have a ladder. That was the last I saw of him.
