Question..going from 2mb to 10mb ..how long does this take?

I was instantly upped to 3.55mb when i got home 20min later?will i be upped tomorrow or how does it work
 
Just got an sms from Telkom saying my line will be down for up to 48hrs because of upgrades in my area. Checked my phone number using the link provided, but no upgrades are underway. Gave them a call, and the agent I spoke to claims there are currently techs working on my exchange - he says they're installing fibre?! What does this mean for me? I'm on a copper line. Will I see an increase in speed on my ADSL?

Not speed but quality..better ping better connection ect

Did it anyway and the lady at telkom store told me same thing..

I ask to go ahead with it and boom 1 day later i'm running 8.8mb stable and ping of 28ms to cape town and 49 to jhb

Waiting since 4 February 2015 for my line to be upgraded to 10mb :cry:

I can't get through to the call center, tried twitter but to no avail.
I, like most users, have not other choice than telkom. so we wait, and pay for terrible service... lovely.

There is currently a back log with processing upgrade orders. Your order will be processed. Current Processing time is around 7 working days.

So how the hell did i get upped instantly?just went to the shop and she pressed a few keyboard buttons and poof im upped :/
 
Telkom ADSL user name not recognized anymore. Please Help! :(

TelkomZA, please assist with my Telkom user account that does not seem to be a valid user name anymore, therefor I can't even connect with my old settings anymore! Tried to change my password with the online password management tool, but it simply stated "Invalid username provided. Please enter a valid username or email address". My ADSL service is not in arrears and my order is now also cancelled online with reference 113366230A for the 10Mbps line upgrade and decoder offer. This is after I spoke to a telkom call centre agent last week and confirmed that I will pay the deposit of R700 this Friday, 13 February 2015. What is wrong? :confused:
 
My ADSL has been down since Fri 6th 1PM, so day 6 now.

After Telkom reset the port it worked for a few hours, though at a lower sync rate.

There were Telkom techicians working/breaking stuff in the area on the 6th.

Cybersmart is not being helpful and can not reset my port any longer?

I don't understand how things can go backwards so much in a couple of years.
 
It never happens but this time Telkom did come through. After struggling for more than 2 weeks, my ADSL and voice line is up and running. Thanks to TelkomZA and Andre(Consultant) who went the extra mile to get all sorted.

Working perfectly now for 2 days now! :)
 
4 Days without ADSL, do Telkom technicians work on Saturdays and Sundays?

All because a Technician disconnected my line on Tuesday, while repairing someone else's line.

Thanks Mr Incompetent!

Day 10: Still no show. ADSL and Line still down.

Complained on myBB, Facebook, Telkom App, Telkom site etc... , but no use.

I can only get adsl Jan 2016. if that makes you feel any better.
 
Line and ADSL missing in action day three. Active fault. Telkom working at exchange since last Monday. We seem to be back at telscums mercy again....
 
They've gotten considerably worse over the last few months. I used to get feedback within minutes or hours but now it takes me almost a week to get any feedback from them. My line has deteriorated over the last month and I'm not getting anywhere.

That's bad. Anyway I have to thank Telkom for creating the chat support as it really assisted me today, even though it took most of my day at work.
