re 'What you are saying is, give up?'
Hardly
a) you dont have anything left anyway. (Unless you want to point to a fortified barricade around your living space, and fading memories of a country that could once be walked around in safety).
Sorry, but that isn't 'anything' much.
I'm saying 'you can't fight for anything at the moment, and will not achieve anything against the Government's various desires' - so taking a long term view, is to let them destroy much of this country, and themselves, and much of the population in the process, and then, the returning SA people, of all races, will build a 'real' democracy - and defend it from the kinds of corrupt scum and lethal morons who are presently in power.
That's not giving up. That's tactically (and sadly) withdrawing ones commitment to a delusional idea of the current situation being acceptable, or ever somehow 'becoming better'.
It can't and won't become better.
2nd law of thermodynamics 'energy goes from usable to unusable"
Walls and electric fences don't dismantle themselves, millions of immigrants and refugee's dont turn around and go home by themselves, the racial and social hatred doesn't dry up
by itself, the billions hidden away by the elite of the ANC, who have also wasted 14 years of time, don't pour back into the economic system,
and the sheer thuglike determination of the current government, to dismantle almost every positive aspect of South Africa - show one that the sanest thing to do is to say:
'Fine, I'll leave - you have this country, you deal with the spreading potential civil war, ethnic strife, spreading pandemics, increasing bitterness, violence and fear, famine and starvation - which you caused. We'll leave until you're left alone in a dustbowl of failed crops, howling mobs and horror..
But guess what - when you're dead, overwhelmed by the mobs and horrors you've created - I and/or my descendants, will come back and take over this country and build it up again in the principles of what Mandela and Tutu wanted.
And we'll make sure its a better society for all from the get-go.
