T2 is still gripping after all those years
 
T2 set the bar so high, this move will have to be near perfect to satisfy the masses, and I don't think it will.
But then you look at The Force Awakens and you wonder.

I don't get the hype on Force awakens, it was alright. Then again I like the Star wars movies just never really got the massive hype over them.
Special effects great for the times, storyline eh.
 
Another Terminator heads back and Sarah Connor in danger from the old and the new. But future Sarah connor comes to a rescue. Scientifically this movie is impossible. Other than the special effects its pretty much the same as Story 1, 2, 4 etc. So same back in time, protect the world.

Pity they cant come up with a newer story like Terminator Salvation (which I thought was good.) One day we will get to Terminator 20 (like Friday 13th or Rocky) and the plot story will be the same. Back in time to kill sarah connor. Blah blah boring.
 
By then they will start to remake the original Terminator.
Or even more prequels

Regardless of what a small band of people thought, it was a success with critics, fans and box office, where it mattered.

I also thought it was ok.

Yup I know sigh, I mean it was okay, not spectacular. I mean the Rey character was Luke all over again.

But it's a circular logic thing. If Skynet never gets created, then the terminators never get created and can't be sent back to stop the creation of skynet which creates the terminators?

Besides, the running theme through all the terminator films is that judgement day is inevitable, unstoppable, and inextricably linked to the creation of skynet.

Or, the easier answer, is that it's a fun bit of mindless escapism? The science is a plot device to carry the story and action along, not the point of the movie.

Except that now John Connor is no longer the target and Sarah is still involved.

They keep changing the goalposts for the sake of entertainment.

or there seem to be more than one terminator protecting and well as hunting Sara Connor.
especially this time , when the one splits into 2 separate machines.
