My 8ta signal was perfect up to about three weeks ago. Since then it all went downhill. Constant diconnects and ping speeds of up to 12000 ms! From time to time after I plug out the 3G and plug in again it is fine for a few minutes. Download speed at its best was round 9 mb/s but these days I am lucky if I get 15kb. It gets even worse when there is the slightest bit of rain in the air.
To think I went from a 1mb DSL for this constant frustration.
Is anybody aware of a way that the contract can be canceled under CPA? Surely this is not what I signed up for? The call centre also seems to be totally useless.

Is it the 10GB contract? If yes then you looking at about R800 cancellation fee

It is the 10gb contract, yes. I cant see why I have to pay for poor service delivery though.

I have similar problems.

And the help is non-existent. I complain, it gets sent to the networking department and it disappears into a massive black abyss from which there is no return. Its coming up on 2 months now and ZERO responses back aside from (After complaining about the lack of responses) the "Its been sent to the networking department".

Hi
Please email your 8ta number, contact details, physical address and query to [email protected].
Please make reference to this thread.
Thank you

So far 8ta have been very helpfull. They will send out a technician to my house. Funny thing, since I was on the phone with them, it went better, almost as if they give my number preference on the tower... Maybe my imagination.
