Mine shows up the name and number on my dashboard and on my radio. I press a button on the radio (or indicator stalk) and it answers and goes handsfree.

This is a STOCK FEATURE in many upmarket cars, and I see people driving these cars with phones glued to their ears. WTF man? Are you too stupid to operate your damned car properly?
If you can afford a R200k car you can afford a R2k car kit, if it doesn't come standard.

Bloody darwin candidates.

I may have missed it, but you havent answered my question as to whether you considered the fact that she may lose her job before you sent the email?
 
Yet another thread that fails because of relativistic morals/legalities. MyBB certainly does have a high percentage of people that never exceed the speed limit, always park in allocated parking spaces, do a 5 point check every time they get in their cars, don't use pirated software, have never seen/heard any pirated music/series/movies and of course pay their tv license. I hope they are all getting tagged for e-tolls too.

I highly doubt this lady will lose her job, far more likely the managers will just laugh it off as some weirdo on the internet and tell her to avoid getting her photo taken by nerds while texting and driving.

Or she may get a stern warning, and decide not to do it again, and NOT drive into the back of you tomorrow. In that case, aren't you glad?

I can't believe people think that keeping a job is more important than obeying the law. wtf man.

Spunkywunky: the chances increase DRAMATICALLY - whether small initially or not, it's still an unnecessary and illegal increase.
 
If I stuck a gopro on my windscreen just on my daily drive and posted on here about every infraction mybb would have to open a new forum section (and I'd be spending a few hours per day going through 40mins of video).

I'd be sure to teach my kids to not play in the middle of a busy road though, and look 5 times in both directions before crossing it.

As for equating endangering lives through negligent driving with pirating software - holy crap man you people are insane. How many people have DIED from having a movie copied? Is life less important than property rights?

Yes, you missed it. And tl;dr: losing a job with NO loss of life is a WHOLE lot better for everyone, her included, than the consequences of a crash. Specially when brought about by this kind of behaviour.

Yes, and during my student days my parents had one fitted for me. Of course back then it was a handsfree kit that you had to buy from you're cellphone manufacturer. Nowadays Bluetooth systems are standard on pretty much every car, and cheap to fit if they aren't. There's no excuse.

Really? Seeing as you are basing your actions on potential outcomes, did you consider she may have a family to support? That she may suffer from depression? That the economy sucks and she might struggle to find a job? That people have committed suicide after losing their jobs (yes, extreme I know, but you chaps are the ones bringing scenarios into play to justify actions :) )?

In SA people are texting and chatting away and driving drunk like it's nobody's business, because they reckon they probably won't get caught anyway.

In countries where the police do what they are there for, the risk of getting caught doing the above is way too high, so way fewer people actually do it.

The real issue is why the cops can't be bothered.
