The 200,000+ km thread

230K on my 2007 Polo TDi 1.9 Sportline. Not a single Turbo yet (touch wood) :)

So far we have established: Don't buy 2002 Ford Mondeo's. :)

Also - I replace stuff frequently because of the sort of mileage I do. I travel about 17km to/from work, and typically it's 60 to 90 minutes each way. My fuel consumption, on a 2l engine, averages 13-14 l/100km.

I do at least double that every day. About 40km's+ in traffic. 2.4L SUV, with consumption of around 10-12 l/100km. All that maintenance costs and very high consumption costs, could probably buy you a nice new... or newer car.

20km each way at 17l per 100 :-\

My 99 Astra 1.6i cs is currently just over 250,000km. Bought used in 2008 at about 104,000km. Commute from Pta to East rand really adds up :)

Nice to see someone else with the same car. Ours is a '01 and nearing 222,222km. Nice thing about the CS is its so basic there is very little that can go wrong.

Is that an E39? What's the interior looking like?

It's an e46. Interior has seen better days but is still neat. There's a few scratches on seats and door panels. Roof lining has come loose. But that's typical on an e46. I'm doing a few things to the car again. More aesthetic stuff and sound upgrade again.

Just taken the car for its 195k service costing 5000 cause the sump gasket has to be replaced as well. Also had a major prang with it in November :-(

I've had since new a 2006 VW Touran 1.9 TDi with 237,000 km on the clock. It's the second car now but still gets a run 6 days out of 7.

At the moment the AC needs a part and the lock on the hatch doesn't work, but the engine is sound and I'll get the repairs done soon. It's on it's third clutch as well as there was/is an issue with the fly wheels on these models apparently.

Nice one. Got a 99/2000 model with 375k.

Must have been very well taken care of. Ever had subframe issues? Mine cracked so bad I had to replace it, had the new one reinforced with steel.

I hope whoever smashed your window gets their head smashed like that! Thieves, hate them.
