The 200,000+ km thread

I bought a 1989 Citi with 250K kms on the clock - she never gave a day's trouble and was very forgiving while i learned to service my own car :) sold her with 340K on the clock...she still purred like a kitten
 
My baby is a Polo Playa 1.6 and I bought her brand new from VW Bryanston for R138 000 on 28 Sep 2004.

She is closing on 199000km and still going strong.
 
2000 Subaru Impreza GT.
235 000KM on original motor.
Few mods done on car.
Oil change every 7500KM (Castrol Edge Sport 10w 60)
Warmed up and cooled down (mainly cooling the brakes) car every time i drove it.
7 years and only replaced tapped cover gasket once @ 210 000km due to age it got replaced.
Best car i owned. Sadly got sold recently and still running strong with the new owner.
 
'05 Toyota RunX 1.8 243 000 KM. It had 66 000 KM when I bought it.
Not selling it.
 
Got 185000km on the Merc C200K now and it's still pomping mielies. If I had to guess, I'd reckon the average fuel consumption on the car has been around 8l/100km. It puts diesel cars to shame on the highway when it comes to fuel consumption.
 
93 Jetta CLX. Had 82 000 on the clock when I bought her in 1997.

Did the engine at 330 000km and have put on about 60 000 since then.
 
Golf 3 GTI going on 250000KM, runs well, just need to get the power steering noise fixed. Was close to selling it, but glad I have not.

111 000 on mine (2009 w204 pre-facelift) and I love it to bits. I've been stressing a bit about going out of motorplan though, have you had any issues?
 
My Hilux (2000 model) went in for its 200k service today and should be done soon. If only fuel could come down to the same than when it was new...

Nothing ever goes wrong with it, which is a big plus. I think the only thing that has really ever broken, is one of the front bulbs that blew last year. Other than normal exhaust fixes or so, everything keeps going right :whistle:

It does drive brilliantly though!
 
When I retired I sold my 2001 100GX Toyota Landcruiser 4500, it had just over 280,000km on the clock. Not a drop of oil used between the 10k km services.
 
'94 Toyota Camry 325000 traded in
'93 Toyota Corrolla 330000 Sold privately and written off 2 months later
'85 Toyota Cressida 259000 Sold to neighbour who did a further 100k before it was stolen
'98 Hyundai Elantra 330000 Sold to above neighbour Now over 400k and looking like new.

All bought new. All serviced at dealers.

At my present usage my current car will take another 17 years to get above 200k.
 
This is something I always ask myself when I look at those cans of "High Mileage" oil...because I haven't found a single one that actually says what they consider to be high mileage.

My 2001 Opel Corsa Lite is at 160 000km now and my 2008 VW Golf GTi is trying to catch up to that being at 128 000km now.
