I don't know hey, that still seems pretty high to me compared to a Diesel.

In fact I don't feel too bad about my GTi getting just under 10l/100km when being stuck in traffic and 8.2 - 8.5 l/100km when it gets to stretch it's legs a little.

C220 Diesel Mercs do 6 - 7 l/100.

My cupra TDI did 4l/100 from randburg to Pretoria. Put to shame?
 
Got a 2006 VW Polo - 278, 000. I have put 101,000 on the car in two years....

However, mileage will now be going up much slower, than the last two years - thankfully.
She still starts first turn every morning - so i am happy.
 
My Opel Astra Euro Estate 2.0 (1995) is just over 270K now. All running well except the aircon.
Crazy thing is I bumped into the previous owner the other day who sold it in 2002 when it had 115K on it.
He recognised it by the plates.

My 2005 C220Cdi has done between 6 and 6.5 l/100km since I got it. It had 75 000km on the clock in 2007 when I paid R170 000 for it, and it's got 460 000km on the clock now. High pressure diesel pump has been serviced, the water pump replaced, the regulator on the alternator replaced (twice) and the starter motor replaced. Otherwise no real work has been done on it - original clutch (it's a manual) original fuel injectors (they're starting to need attention now) original turbo, original exhaust. I reckon I got value for money...
 
I have a 2005 Toyota Quantum 2.7 VVTI with 395 000km. Never had a single day's hassle :)
 
I've a 2004 Corsa Lite Sport, 216000km! Recently busted the clutch, otherwise she runs like a dream.
I still push her to about 175km/h occasionally :P
 
1996 VW CITI runabout. It rattles a lot. Needs one or two minor fixes now < R1000. +-460 000 km. I almost never look at the mileage. Love it still.
 
BMW E46 320i Facelift 2.2L 2002 model - 210 800KMs - usual tyres, expansion tank, battery changed last year had the original battery. only rear window mechanism needs to be changed, had the other side changed in November last year. Cost +/-R800.00 parts from Goldwagen was quote over R2000.00 by BMW.
 
opel astra 230 000km

opel corsa 260 000km
they both traveled lots of gravel roads, just tires and batteries.
a Friend bought a chev now too because he could not believe my opels keeps running so smooth.

Stock engine bar the additions like...
Full Powerflow branch and 50mm freeflow exhaust
Short ram induction with K&N filter
Dastek Uni Q tuned for fuel economy and just getting under 950 kms off a full tank (65l)
She churns out 91kw on the fly which I know is chicken feed to alotta guys but that's awesome compared to the 79kw fly power factory rated as new and just a couple of kw's away from factory spec Twincams:love::D

2000 BMW e46 328i on 370k

Bought in 2002 @90k. Done a few clutch kits. Was a dd but now rotating with two other cars.
 
My mom had a B7 Audi A4 2.0 tdi and took it to 260k km.
I remember she sent it in for a service at Audi and they called back saying the turbo blew ( around 120k km) even though it was out of maintenance they payed for more than half the price of replacing the turbo.
Other than the turbo the car did not give problems.
she sold it last year for around R140 000
 
My 2000 Corolla 1.6 passed 360k km the other day. Not sure if it counts though; I bought it a bit after it got a new engine. So, about 190k km on the engine and 360k km on the rest.

I'm using it every day since I bought it about 5 years ago and it scares me to think that it'll probably have to go up in flames before I buy another car. :D
