The 200,000+ km thread

I got a gearbox service for my car yesterday. I think it's the second one it's had, and it's at 280000km. I love auto gearboxes, compared the the R10K I spent every 50000km on a clutch on the manual car.

Getting to the 200000 km club slowly but surely...

What year have you got?
See it's the diesel version.
Was that 577.1km done on the tank since it was full? Curious because that's about what I get on my 1.8.
Mine is a 2010, diesel yes.
And yes, the 577 is on a full tank. Pretoria rush hour traffic for maybe 85% of that. And I have a heavy foot. I stay in pta north and work in Brooklyn, so I have to contend with all the kak in Wonderboom poort as well as Johan Heynes drive. Open road will see 700+ if I behave.

I didn't even realise that Honda made cars with diesel engines. I always thought that they were pro-petrol and electric in their vehicles, same as Mazda (BT-50 excluded)

Honda have their own in-house built diesels since 2006, the first two eniges were 2.2 (first 2204cc then 2199 cc, namely the ictdi and then idtec). The latest is a 1.6 idtec, they also had a 1.7 ctdi diesel pre-2006, sourced from Isuzu, but don't quote me on that, might have been another manufacturer.

Mazda also have 2.2 diesels in their current cx5 and mazda6 cars, I believe. (at least they did in the 2015 cx5 cars)- SkyActiv-D or something.

Edit: there's also a 1.5 diesel engine for the Mazda 2 which I forgot about.

Nice.
Would've loved the diesel variant, but even harder to find than the 1.8.
I feel you, I average about 6L/100km on the open road with 8-9L/100km in the city.
Also just such a fun car to put foot.

My dad said that Honda and Uno engine spares were always so scarce because the engines just refused to die.

Interestingly, my mother used to have an Uno before I was born and then sold that and got herself a Honda. Makes one wonder
